The 200 cells (instead of 400 in the traditional version) allow the air to pass freely. Hence an immediate increase in power of around 10 horsepower and a reduction in fuel consumption of between 0.5 and 1 litre per 100 kms (62.5 miles). By allowing more air to pass, the SCART sport catalytic converter eliminates the time lost by the “plug” effect of the original version.The particularity of this catalytic converter is that it is in one piece, which allows :- The gasses from the 6 cylinders to mix which is important for technical reasons.- The Lambda sensor to analyse the gas from the 6 cylinders.(which is not the case for the versions with crossed tubes).
