Aluminum Intake Plenum 74mm. Porsche 997 Turbo IPD

Code: 97274

The incredible 997 Porsche Turbo is the most revolutionary and capable Porsche Turbo to ever come out of Germany. The already explosive power can be further increased with the new 997 Turbo IPD Intake Plenums.

The patented IPD Plenum design works exceptionally well with all forced induction applications and the 997 Turbo is no exception. Power and torque increases provided by the IPD plenum are impressive and stay over and above all factory power curves from launch to redline. Maximum power increases take place in the midrange where it's most needed and most critical.

Maximum horsepower gains range from 30 to 35 depending on vehicle condition and pre-existing mods. The 997 Turbo plenums deliver smooth and linear power with considerably quicker boost response creating a longer and more desirable power band. The Turbo plenums deliver reliable performance for both street and motorsport applications enhancing the already visceral Porsche Turbo driving experience.

Unlike the 996 Turbo the 997 Turbo requires an “adaptation” period that can be fully realized with either a series of hard pulls on the dyno or 10 to 50 miles of hard driving which of course IPD recommends only be performed on a closed circuit race track.

The 997 Turbo has an extremely sensitive ECU/DME making it prone to external environmental corrections so it is imperative that proper, adequate and consistent cooling be available when you dyno any of the 997 Turbos to get accurate and reliable dyno figures both before and after each test.

Installation of all Turbo Plenums is highly recommended to be performed by qualified and trained Porsche technicians.

Turbo customers looking to increase engine power without pushing the motorsport envelope to redline would best benefit from the 74mm IPD Turbo Plenum.

This version of the 997 Turbo plenum utilizes the factory 74mm throttle body and delivers impressive performance gains for both stock and slightly modified Turbos with exhaust and software. Beyond these performance mods we recommend upgrading to the larger 82mm IPD Turbo Plenum.

The 74mm IPD Turbo Plenum is also designed to perform with the higher flowing IPD “Y” Pipe.

Power obsessed Turbo customers looking to push the motorsport envelope a little harder would best benefit from the larger 82mm “Competition” IPD plenum fitted with a factory 997 GT3 82mm Porsche throttle body (additional purchase required).

The larger 82mm intake opening allows for even greater air flow to help optimize the more extreme mods such as larger turbos, intercoolers, Y Pipes and more aggressive software.

This larger version Plenum is also designed to perform with the higher flowing IPD “Y” Pipe.

997.1 Turbo Competition Plenum: HP Gains 30-35 / Torque Gains 35-40. Requires upgrading factory 74mm TB with 997 GT3 82mm Thottle Body

Aluminum Intake Plenum. Porsche 997 3.6L IPD

Code: 97174-3.6

The 997 marked Porsche's return to the round headlights and curvaceous fenders reminiscent of the 993 and earlier era Carreras. Although the 997's picturesque styling is another milestone in Porsche design history there is still room for improvement in the engine performance department.

The IPD "Y" design plenum replaces the factory "T" style air distributor and provides substantial power and torque gains by means of a more efficient design. Horsepower gains range from 24 to 28 depending on engine displacement and engine condition. These max power gains are experienced in the mid range where is it most useable and enjoyed.

The IPD plenum not only delivers impressive power and torque increases but also creates a more linear power and torque band. Tiptronic customers even claim considerable improvements with more positive shifting after installing the IPD Plenums.

The 3.6 liter Carrera produces very similar power gains as the 3.8 liter equipped S Carreras. Maximum horsepower increases of 24 to 26 take place in the midrange and gains of 10 to 12 up top.

The "Y" design of the 3.6 liter IPD Plenum also allows for a more linear power delivery and improved throttle response that enhances your 997 Carrera driving experience even further.

Power improvements will be fully realized once the factory DME makes all the necessary “adaptation” requirements which occurs after a series of hard pulls on the dyno or full throttle runs (at your local race track of course).

The 997 IPD Plenum is a direct bolt on replacement and installation is relatively straight forward for mechanically inclined DIY customers although IPD strongly recommends all Plenum installations be performed by a trained and qualified Porsche technician.

Aluminum Intake Plenum. Porsche 997 S 3.8L IPD

Code: 97174-3.8

The 997 marked Porsche's return to the round headlights and curvaceous fenders reminiscent of the 993 and earlier era Carreras. Although the 997's picturesque styling is another milestone in Porsche design history there is still room for improvement in the engine performance department.

The IPD plenum not only delivers impressive power and torque increases but also creates a more linear power and torque band. Tiptronic customers even claim considerable improvements with more positive shifting after installing the IPD Plenums.

The 997S IPD Plenum provide power increases throughout the entire power band. Gains of 28 horsepower and 26 foot pounds of torque are experienced in the midrange with gains of 11 to 12 hp at the peak.

The "Y" design of the 3.8 liter IPD Plenum also allows for a more linear power delivery and improved throttle response that elevates the 997 S Carrera driving experience even higher.

Power improvements will be fully realized once the factory DME makes all the necessary “adaptation” requirements which occurs after a series of hard pulls on the dyno or full throttle runs (at your local race track of course).

The 997S IPD Plenum is a direct bolt on replacement and installation is relatively straight forward for mechanically inclined DIY customers although IPD strongly recommends all Plenum installations be performed by a trained and qualified Porsche technician.

Aluminum Intake Plenum High Flow Y Pipe. Porsche 997 Turbo IPD

Code: 97500

The revolutionary 997 Turbo IPD “Y” Pipe was built for the more demanding Turbo performance customer. This is not a cast reproduction of the factory Y pipe but a complete re-design from scratch, developed to deliver even greater air flow for both stock AND highly modified Turbos.

The factory Y pipe becomes restrictive when adding substantial power gains. The IPD “Y” Pipe has larger inlets and an optimized diversion area allowing for even greater power gains. This superior and more efficient design flows 126 more cfm than the factory Y pipe delivering the additional power needed to raise the performance bar on any Turbo.

Bigger isn’t always better, and the IPD “Y” Pipe is designed to deliver optimum flow without being too large causing a loss in boost response. These “Y” Pipes can also be special ordered in custom powder coated colors and ceramic coatings or polished to improve the aesthetic appeal of your Turbo engine.

The IPD 997 Turbo Y Pipe is designed to be a direct replacement of the factory OEM Y Pipe. There are no modifications or fabrication required for installing the IPD Y Pipe. This is an easy and straight forward R & R (remove and reinstall) bolt on upgrade.

997.1 Turbo / GT2 Hi-Flow Y Pipe: HP Gains 15-20. Direct Bolt-in Replacement / No modification necessary

Throttle Body 82mm for Porsche

Throttle Body 82mm for Porsche

Code: 99760511601

In fuel injected engines, the throttle body is the part of the air intake system that controls the amount of air flowing into the engine, in response to driver accelerator pedal input in the main. The throttle body is usually located between the air filter box and the intake manifold, and it is usually attached to, or near, the mass airflow sensor.

The largest piece inside the throttle body is the throttle plate, which is a butterfly valve that regulates the airflow. Have a larger diameter throttle body produces more air flow with equals more power. The upgrades should be used in conjunction with the competition plenums.

This is a 82mm Thottle body.
