Air Ram System Vortex Generator

The Air Ram is a non-moving vortex generator that goes inside your air intake hose, right after your air filter. It is made entirely from stainless steel, requires no maintenance, and only takes a few minutes and a screwdriver to install.

If you don't feel comfortable installing it, have your mechanic do it for you. If he doesn't install it for free, find a new mechanic.

The Air Ram’s airflow dynamic is designed to improve your vehicle’s air intake system by creating a more efficient airflow path throughout the intake hose. As air travels through an intake it bounces around bends and elbows in the hose causing it to slow down. Spinning air can be less susceptible to these abrupt changes in direction.

Once this redirected air reaches the engine, it can produce a swirling, fast burn effect in the combustion chamber to create finer particles of atomized fuel, allowing better flame propagation and more complete combustion. Swirling air has longer residence time with fuel than flat air. Since the air spins through the fuel rather than just shooting through in a straight line, it spends more time mixing with the gasoline in your engine.

Engineered for maximum power and sound. This engineered system eliminates the OEM restrictive airbox and incorporates a high flow cone air filter and sealed fresh air chamber. A cone filter has superior air flow characteristics as compared to flat panel filters. The cone filter better shapes the air as it enters through the filter for smoother straighter more formed air. Next, we have CMC machined a MAF housing to the exact tolerances of the OEM housing for precise MAF reading and NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS. In addition, the sealed air chamber sections off the cone air filter from the engine compartment so that it can only draw cool outside air for more power. Finally, the system is injected molded from crosslink polyethylene which has the lowest thermal conductivity rating of any single-layered moldable material available on the market today. This is key in keeping intake temperatures low and increasing power.

Installing the cold air performance enhancement kit will make any standard 996 with factory mufflers sound as if you have added a very mild performance exhaust. This is perfect for any 996 owner that wants his car to sound slightly more aggressive than stock.

The cold air kit adds 1.5 liters of cold air by eliminating the plastic factory muffler in air pipe, this allows the engine to draw cold air across entire topside of air box (left and right rather than just from the right) Adds 0.42 seconds faster acceleration 3000-6000 RPM.

The cold air kit is made from 4 ply silicone tube - better flow from air box to throttle body.

No “Check engine” lights as you retain the factory MAF.

In F1, for example, BMC cotton filters minimize the loss of air flow pressure passing through the air filter; this way ensures the best conditions for full exploitation of maximum power. Therefore the benefits of replacing the original paper filter with BMC cotton air filter, produced using the same technology and materials as the F1 air filters, are evident.

DESIGN AND MATERIALS
Qualified engineers using advanced software and expert technicians using the latest technologies produce BMC air filters. An F1 filter must be very light, must be made of the best raw materials and must improve performance. For this reason we use only alloy mesh with epoxy coating to ensure protection from petrol fumes and from oxidization due to the humidity of the air. The filtering material is composed of a special cotton gauze soaked with low-viscosity oil to give you the best air permeability.
