Parts For 996 C4S 3.6L 09/01-2005

About 996 C4S 3.6L 09/01-2005

Porsche ventured into new territory between its generational bookends with the introduction of the Porsche 996 Carrera 4S in 2002, affectionately known as the C4S among enthusiasts. Positioned slightly above its counterparts, this model stands out as one of the most assertive early water-cooled 911s, second only to the turbo or GT3 variants. Departing from the standard two-wheel-drive 996 body, the 'C4S' boasts enhanced rear quarters and adopts the turbo's exterior styling cues, except for the side intake vents exclusive to the force-fed model.

Sporting more power and displacement compared to the 996 Carrera 4, along with a swift sprint to 60mph in under five seconds, the C4S emerges as the quintessential all-rounder within the 996 lineup. Combining the trademark assurance of four-wheel drive with the commanding turbo aesthetic, it presents a formidable package. Visually, only the electronic Carrera spoiler, the full-width rear light bar and the omission of rear wheel arch vents set apart this imposing, naturally aspirated machine from its turbocharged counterpart. Even today, the 996 C4S exudes an aura of seriousness.

Beyond styling, the parallels between the 996 turbo and C4S extend to the wheel design. The naturally aspirated variant adopts the 18-inch wheel styling of its turbocharged counterpart. The intricate five-spoke design measures eight inches wide at the front and 11 inches at the rear, paired with turbo-equivalent 225 and 295 section tyres, respectively. Anchoring the corners are 330mm drilled discs and four-piston monobloc calipers, while turbo-derived suspension components ensure a firmer stance, sitting 10mm lower than any other 996 Carrera.
