Electric Porsche 718 due in 2022?
Porsche is developing an electric 718 for an estimated 2022 launch. Currently, prototype 718’s with electric power trains are being developed alongside the hybrid equivalent.
Porsche is still taking a hardline stance that there will never be a purely electric 911.
It’s worth mentioning that despite Porsches seeming resistance to going electric, they created an electric Boxter prototype as early as 2011. It was made entirely for research purposes and was good for 240HP. With demand for electric cars getting larger & larger, to motoring world is getting more intrigued with what one of the all-time greats of motorsport will do with the incoming age of electrics.
