Ten More Years of 911 Combustion Engines

Just because Porsche’s interest in their electric capabilities is ever-growing, doesn’t mean that the company has plans to give up on the internal combustion engine just yet.

Executives see Porsche as a company that produces cars on three fronts, traditional fuel, hybrid and electric.

Porsches’ CEO Oliver Bloom is committed to not killing off their traditionally fueled vehicles. So much so that it is his belief that the 911 will be powered by internal combustion.

“The secret is to think about more efficient petrol engines and in ten years time perhaps, the use of synthetic gasoline.”

This is a brave statement to make in the wake of the current environmentalist movement across the world. Electric is likely to become king of the road over the next decades. Porsche has even jailed Formula-E, a venture which is sure to unlock new innovation and improve their future electric ventures.

But for now, at least, Oliver Blume is insistent that the combustion engine 911 is not going anywhere.
