{"id":1271,"date":"2012-07-25T18:04:07","date_gmt":"2012-07-25T17:04:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.design911.co.uk\/blog\/?p=1271"},"modified":"2012-07-25T18:06:41","modified_gmt":"2012-07-25T17:06:41","slug":"porsche-panamera-turbo-and-turbo-s-performance-exhaust-system","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.design911.co.uk\/blog\/porsche-panamera-turbo-and-turbo-s-performance-exhaust-system\/","title":{"rendered":"Porsche Panamera Turbo and Turbo S Performance Exhaust System"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Since this article was written, Milltek have gained full EC-approval of their &#8216;Euro&#8217; version of the Panamera exhaust system which means it meets all the requirements for sale into European countries.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/www.design911.co.uk\/uploads\/images\/product\/Milltek_Sport\/SSXP0101lr.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"550\" height=\"346\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Milltek is proud to announce the release of its latest metallurgic masterpiece; a hand-finished stainless steel exhaust system for Porsche\u2019s ultimate GT, the Panamera Turbo and Turbo S.<\/p>\n<p>Milltek has taken great care to maintain the dual personality that Porsche has carefully engineered into the car, and has exploited the latest construction and material techniques to endow the car with the best of both worlds; a relaxed and refined demeanour for motorway cruising, balanced with a superbly sporty growl under load and when driving hard.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/www.design911.co.uk\/uploads\/images\/product\/Milltek_Sport\/SSXP0101lrc.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"550\" height=\"397\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>The car feels night and day different with the Milltek fitted<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>This is achieved with the use of several OEM-level engineering solutions. The system itself is based around the very highest quality non-magnetic stainless steel and uses a consistent 70mm bore and CNC mandrel bends for optimum flow. The Milltek system bolts directly to the factory catalysts and deletes the centre silencers to maximise gas flow. During testing, this design was found to reduce back pressure from 250 millibars to just 60. Custom-formed endplates and teardrop-section silencers at the rear of the vehicle then enhance the harmonics of the system to give simply glorious acoustics \u2013 when required, of course.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>A perfect euro style V8 roar on start up and wide open throttle<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><iframe src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/PRm9vWjeYP4\" frameborder=\"0\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The use of precision engineered \u2018active exhaust valves\u2019 is the real secret to the Milltek\u2019s \u2018Jekyll and Hyde\u2019 persona. Cruising off the throttle sees the valves shut, resulting in factory noise levels, a total lack of cabin resonance and a truly cosseting driving experience. However, should the mood take you to drive a little more \u2018enthusiastically\u2019, the valves will open accordingly, allowing the Panamera to breathe more freely and giving the engine note a divine V8 bellow that reflects its true heritage.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Love the exhaust, amazing sound!<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Two versions are available and both fit both the Turbo and Turbo S variants of the Panamera. The \u2018Cup\u2019 system offers the ultimate GT experience and maximum performance, whilst the &#8216;EC-Approved&#8217; version is already fully homologated and appropriately accredited for sale throughout Europe. Both offer the ability to handle a proven 700bhp with ease.<\/p>\n<p>As ever, aesthetics have been a major factor in Milltek\u2019s design process, so choose from 100mm \u2018GT\u2019 trim tips in Ink Black, mirror polished or Titanium. The trims were carefully designed to fit precisely into the factory bumper apertures, offering a subtle increase in visual aggression, without looking overly modified.
