A factory Aerokit forms the base, finished off with a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.design911.co.uk\/p\/rear-bumper-gt3-rs-look-porsche-911--997--2008-12_2_2_2_2\/?source=doofinder\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong data-start=\"2841\" data-end=\"2869\">GT3 RS-style rear bumper<\/strong><\/a> and a <strong data-start=\"2876\" data-end=\"2906\">Miltek centre-exit exhaust<\/strong>. It\u2019s aggressive, but controlled \u2014 purposeful rather than shouty.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2974\" data-end=\"3162\">The short shifter might be the most telling modification of all. It doesn\u2019t add power or visual drama, but it changes the interaction between driver and car every single time you move off.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3164\" data-end=\"3186\">That\u2019s not accidental.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"3188\" data-end=\"3226\">Why the C4S Works in the Real World<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"3228\" data-end=\"3356\">The Carrera 4S often lives in the shadow of its rear-wheel-drive siblings, but Trevor values exactly what some purists overlook.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3358\" data-end=\"3416\">Four-wheel drive brings confidence \u2014 especially in the UK.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3418\" data-end=\"3485\">\u201cIn wet and damp conditions, you can push the car that bit harder.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3487\" data-end=\"3690\">At low speeds, the 997 is calm and manageable. You need to make them reliable first.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"5094\" data-end=\"5253\">It\u2019s not the most exciting approach, but it\u2019s the one that allows the fun to happen later. Track days. Road trips. Early-morning drives. Cars and coffee meets.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"5255\" data-end=\"5343\">Once the car is dependable, it stops being stressful \u2014 and starts being enjoyable again.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"5345\" data-end=\"5367\">Why He\u2019s Keeping It<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"5369\" data-end=\"5456\">The 997 isn\u2019t perfect. Trevor would be the first to say that.
