Porsche\u2019s 993 Targa is arguably one of the highest pinnacles in Porsche motoring history. Production of the model began in 1996 and it was the first to have the electrical sliding roof in laminated glass, instead of the removable soft top.<\/p>\n

The whole 993 range were fantastic cars and the last of the air cooled engines. Many believe the 993 is the prettiest of all Porsches too. That, combined with the fact that less than 5,000 of them were ever produced, puts the Porsche Targa 993<\/a> in a class of its own. If you are looking to buy a Porsche 993, the Targa is a great choice that will appreciate in value faster than other models.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s not just about the looks either. The 993 Targa is both refined and practical, so you could use it every day if you were up to footing the large fuel costs. She\u2019s a dainty but darting joy to drive and you\u2019ll find her brakes are often far better than you may expect from a similarly aged classic.<\/p>\n

Even a 993 Cabriolet that needs a little work is going to set you back around \u00a330,000. Thanks to the rarity of the Targa, you\u2019ll see that figure climb to \u00a340,000 or even \u00a360,000.<\/p>\n

Inside the cabin of the 993 Targa it can feel a little compact. That, and given that the car is well over 20 years old, you may be looking to make a few adjustments to show you\u2019re 993 a little TLC.<\/p>\n

The seats and steering wheel, the most used part of the cabin, are the obvious places to start. Rather than opting for the full factory interior restoration pack<\/a>, a little modification in this area can improve comfort and driving experience. It\u2019s a little more fun too.<\/p>\n

As a necessity, steering for sportscars is excellent and the Porsche 993 Targa is certainly no different. However, upgrading to the Momo Mod.07<\/a> deep dish steering wheel will add a rally driving feel to any journey. The non-stitch cover in suede or leather improves both comfort and durability of the finish, ensuring good value from the switch.<\/p>\n

The deep dish design moves the steering slightly closer to you for better leverage and faster correction. The three spoke design gives the interior or the Porsche 993 Targa a sportier feel too.
