Brief Rundown Of The Porsche 944<\/h1>\n

The Porsche 944 is a model for enthusiasts of classics.<\/p>\n

Even back in 1982, when it was released for the very first time, the 944 helped narrow the financial and performance-based divide between the 924 and the 911 SC; it was seen as a middle-ground model that wouldn\u2019t break the bank but still offered a Porsche experience.<\/p>\n

Considering that a very well-kept Porsche 944 typically won\u2019t break more than \u00a315,000 out of your wallet nowadays, it\u2019s easy to see why it has become a fan favourite to drive \u2013 and simultaneously one of the most modified Porsches of all time.<\/p>\n

Upgrading The Wheels Of The Porsche 944<\/h1>\n

 <\/p>\n

Given that the Porsche 944 is one of the most commonly modified street cars, it’s appropriate that one of the first major aesthetical upgrades many people make to the car is to change out the traditionally “dull” factory wheels and replace them with aftermarket ones.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

One of the biggest things to note when making the decision to change the wheels of your Porsche 944, aside from taking looks into consideration, is the difference in offset between the 1982-1986 Porsche 944s and the 944s from 1987 onwards.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

944s from the earlier period came with a wheel that had a 23.3mm offset, while the later model came with a much larger offset of 52.3mm.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

While this larger offset was delivered to enable the installation of ABS brakes, it does make fitting wheels pre-1987 to the later 944 models impossible, however, later wheels will fit early 944s with a 30mm spacer.<\/p>\n
