Having founded Lammertink Porsche 25 years ago in Enter, Netherlands, Edwin has been living the dream every day since. And who couldn\u2019t raise a smile when \u2018work\u2019 is a workshop array of Porsche\u2019s finest work?<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

While some of the AI-generated translations on the company\u2019s Facebook page may be questionable (\u201ctechnical hair barrels of the car\u201d, anyone?) the cars speak for themselves.<\/p>\n

Starting his own Porsche journey as a student mechanic in the Porsche dealership, learning his craft through the \u201clittle red book<\/a>\u201d, Edwin has been with Porsche, man and boy, and it\u2019s this immersion in the culture of Porsche that has brought him to where he is today. \u201cEvery customer arrives with a wish. I am here to make that wish come true for you. Nothing is too much trouble. They\u2019re just challenges to be overcome. Normal workshops don\u2019t go as far as we do.\u201d<\/p>\n

The key to his own happiness, Edwin believes, is seeing the reaction of his own customers as their Porsche dreams are duly delivered. \u201cWhether the car needs a gearbox, engine, it\u2019s a journey. A makeover.\u201d And Edwin knows just the people to help him deliver every customer dream.<\/p>\n

Design911: Going Dutch.<\/strong><\/h3>\n

With our new distribution centre in the Netherlands, Design911 are metaphorically and geographically<\/a> in the ideal place to help Edwin realise the potential of every Porsche in his care. “I draw up a wish list, and (after sales manager) Branco talks to Design911… and everything arrives on time, we are happy with it, the prices are good… it\u2019s going perfect.\u201d<\/p>\n

A vivacious, energetic man, Edwin is careful to surround himself with younger people to keep that pace. \u201cYoung people are frenetic\u201d, he laughs. It\u2019s just as well, bearing in mind the workload and his insistence on delivering a perfect ending to every customer journey.<\/p>\n

Takes one to know one?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

As a man who can build a Porsche from bumper to bumper \u2013 and then race it<\/a> – Edwin understands the Porsche like few others. So, he surrounds himself with like-minded people. Those who share his passion for Porsche. It\u2019s this careful choice of mechanics and backroom staff<\/a> that prompted Porsche to award them the rare accolade of Porsche Classic First Engineers.<\/p>\n

Problems? What problems? <\/strong><\/h3>\n

The only mention of a challenge relates to the Porsches, not the people who drive them. Highlighting the key pieces in the workshop, he describes the Targa as being a challenge because of the \u201cweak body for such a big engine\u201d. The answer was to work around what the manufacturer had created. \u201cGet the right suspension on it, gear settings, tuning the engine…<\/p>\n
