The Akrapovic aftermarket Slip-On system is based on the same layout as the original exhaust system of the GT3 with valve control. In comparison to the aftermarket Akrapovic Evolution exhaust system, the Slip-On does not contain an exhaust manifold with a 100 cpsi sports catalyst, but rather only a titanium muffler with two double round tail pipes. The muffler is easily installed on the original exhaust system. Another advantage is that it is homologated for road use.

Performance:

A Porsche 911 GT3/RS (997) that is equipped with an Akrapovic Slip-On exhaust system is more powerful and lighter, even though the exhaust system is not replaced in its entirety. The sound of its six valve engine is also noticeably improved. A look at the numbers reveals that the Slip-On offers a 1.95 kg weight reduction in the rear of the Porsche 911 GT3/RS of and a 3,67 HP and 3,4 Nm increase in power. The reduced weight provides better steerability and the increased power additionally spices up sports driving, because the changes offer better lap times. Two tail pipes, measuring a 100 millimeters in diameter, make it clear that the Akrapovic Slip-On system is no ordinary exhaust.

The Akrapovic Evolution aftermarket exhaust system is based on the same layout as the original exhaust system of the GT3 with valve control. A newly developed exhaust manifold with 100 cpsi sports catalysts guarantees an increase in power and torque, as do the newly developed and optimized pre mufflers. But the real plus of this exhaust system is the weight reduction of 17,05 kg, while it maintains the original layout and functionality of the exhaust caps.

Performance:

The weight distribution of the vehicle is improved considerably, because of that weight reduction in the area behind the engine and the rear axle, which has a positive effect on the handling. The limit range of the vehicle adjusts upwards and so a higher transverse acceleration is possible. The combination of improved power to weight ratio (through an increased efficiency of 12 HP), torque progression by 14,2 Nm, and the positive effects in connection with driving dynamics enhance the performance of the GT3 distinctively. The sound impression in this configuration is somewhat more voluminous and with opened caps way more aggressive than in the original version.

The Akrapovic aftermarket Evolution Race exhaust system connects titanium headers with integrated 100 cpsi metallic catalysts with the ultra light Sports Cup system without compromise and now represents our maximum power increase at the lowest weight configuration.

Performance:

Because of the achieved weight reduction of 25,86 kg in the most critical area of the Porsche 911, behind the engine and rear axle, the weight distribution of the car is noticeably improved, which also enables better handling. The limit range of the car increased and higher side acceleration is now possible. The performance of the GT3 will clearly be increased by the combination of better power/weight ratio, the increase of power for 16,5 HP and torque for 22,7 Nm and much better handling. Sound characteristics of this configuration are much more aggressive.

The Akrapovic aftermarket Sports Cup exhaust system is based on the Porsche Sports Cup rules, which means retaining the original exhaust manifold with integrated catalysts. We therefore developed a performance and weight optimized titanium end muffler with appropriate link pipes as the connecting piece to the manifold. This kind of construction reduces the weight by almost 21 kg in comparison to the original exhaust system.

The weight distribution of the vehicle is improved considerably, because of the weight reduction in the area behind the engine and the rear axle, which has a extremely positive effect on the handling. The limit range of the vehicle adjusts upwards and so a higher transverse acceleration is possible. Akrapovic has once again developed the premier exhaust for the Porsche Turbo line. We begin with our very lightweight center muffler made from our proprietary titanium* alloy. Replacing the stock center muffler alone reduces the weight at the back of the car by 4 kg.

Performance:

The next option is to replace the stock link pipes with the Akrapovic variant made from titanium and incorporating either 100 cpsi or 200 cpsi high-flow catalysts (customer choice). These link pipes, when coupled with our titanium center muffler, produce a total weight savings of 8 kg compared with the stock system.

Each center muffler kit also includes beautifully handcrafted, aerospace grade, carbon fiber bumper inserts with integrated titanium exhaust tail pipes. These distinctive, yet subtle pieces will set your car apart from the rest of the pack.

As always, our mission is to improve the sound of the car. Turbo chargers are known for absorbing quite a bit of the sound volume of an engine. Through careful design we were able to produce a system that has the deep and aggressive sound a car of this caliber deserves without being unpleasant or intrusive during normal driving conditions.

The weight savings, appearance, and the amazing sound delivered by the Akrapovic system are reason enough to own the system. However, in order to increase the power beyond the limit of 500 HP, ECU reprogramming will be required. The Akrapovic exhaust system is a perfect basis for increased power when used in conjunction with an ECU reflash as well as other power-enhancing modifications.
