A Quarter Century of Design911: Our 25th Anniversary Celebration

Back in 1998, Design911 started with a simple idea. Porsche ownership should be easier. Finding the right part, whether it was a panel, an exhaust or a set of wheels, shouldn’t take weeks of searching or phone calls. Over time that small start grew into something much bigger. What began in one corner of the UK is now a name recognised by Porsche owners and specialists across the world.

Last month the team marked that journey with a party at the Kings Oak Hotel. Friends, partners and customers came together to celebrate twenty five years in business, and the night had everything you would hope for. A free bar kept spirits high, trays of food were passed around, and before long the dance floor was full of singing and laughter. Everyone went home with a goodie bag as a thank you for being part of the story so far.

The evening was also a chance to reflect on how far Design911 has come. The early days were about supplying essentials, but the catalogue soon expanded. Today it covers every Porsche model, from the earliest 356 through to the latest 992. The website makes it easy to track down parts with clear diagrams and factory numbers, and a warehouse full of stock means most orders are sent out within twenty four hours.

That level of service has made a big difference for Porsche specialists who rely on Design911. Phil at Williams Crawford summed it up well:

“Working with Design911 has enabled our business to keep our customers on the road faster, with a level of expertise second to none and stock availability overnight it has given us the ability to deliver quality products that will make our customers feel valued. We are proud to be a part of the Design911 family, as a Porsche specialist we have always enjoyed working alongside Karl, Anthony and the team, we know we can pick up the phone and call with our requirements and trust that they will deliver. Design911 are not just a supplier they are our Friends and for us that makes the difference.”

Partnerships like this have always been at the heart of the company’s growth. Chris from Wrightune added his own perspective:

“I’ve had the pleasure of working with Anthony for 15 years, and in that time I’ve watched him grow and ascend through sheer diligence and professionalism. His knowledge, reliability, and consistency have always stood out, and it’s been a privilege to see the dedication he brings to his work every single day. He’s one of those rare people who truly earns the respect of everyone around him.”

It is not just the customers who have shaped the business, though. In 2024, founder Karl Chopra transferred seventy five percent of Design911 into an Employee Ownership Trust. That decision was about protecting the people who helped build it. Instead of selling to investors, Karl wanted to make sure the next generation could carry the business forward without losing its identity. Today the leadership team of Martin Maziarz, Anthony Malone and Nikhil Chopra continue that vision, supported by trustees and staff representatives.

The 25th anniversary party was a moment to celebrate all of this. The dancing, the singing, the food and the laughter were reminders that Design911 has never been just a supplier. It is a community built around a love of Porsche, a network of people who trust each other, and a team that still believes in making ownership easier.

To everyone who joined us at the Kings Oak Hotel, thank you. You helped make it a night we will never forget. Here’s to the next chapter of Design911.
