The Lounge by Design911 has officially opened its doors for an exclusive soft launch at our Hutton headquarters. Bringing together Porsche owners, car enthusiasts, friends and members of the local community, the first event gave guests an early look at a completely new side of Design911.

The evening combined tacos, drinks, live music and a carefully selected display of Porsche cars. More importantly, it showed exactly what The Lounge has been created to offer: a relaxed place where people can meet, enjoy great food and connect through a shared interest in cars.

What is The Lounge by Design911?

The Lounge is a new event space created by Design911 at our Hutton headquarters in Essex.

Design911 is best known as a leading independent supplier of Porsche parts, accessories and upgrades. Our work connects us with owners, specialists, workshops and enthusiasts around the world. The Lounge gives that community a physical place to come together away from the usual workshop, showroom or car show setting.

It has been designed as a flexible and welcoming space for automotive evenings, product launches, club gatherings, networking events and private functions. With a kitchen, bar and room for street-food pop-ups, each event can have its own character while retaining a clear connection to the Design911 world.

The aim is simple: to create enjoyable events where the cars start the conversation, but the people make the evening.

The Lounge soft launch

The soft launch was the first opportunity to see The Lounge in action. Rather than holding a formal opening, we wanted the first event to feel relaxed, sociable and representative of the evenings we plan to host in the future.

A taco night was the perfect way to begin.

Guests joined us for an evening of food, drinks, music and Porsche cars, with plenty of time to explore the new space and catch up with other enthusiasts. The atmosphere remained informal throughout the night, allowing people to move between the cars, the food and the bar at their own pace.

The event also gave the Design911 team the chance to welcome familiar faces and meet new people from the local area. Owners arrived in a varied selection of cars, adding to the sense that The Lounge is a space for the wider motoring community rather than one particular model or generation.

Tacos, live music and Porsche cars

Food was at the heart of the soft launch, with @hotacotruck serving an excellent selection of freshly prepared tacos throughout the evening. The street-food setup worked perfectly within the new venue and gave guests another reason to stay, talk and enjoy the surroundings.

Live music came from @alexfrancismusic, helping to create the right atmosphere without taking attention away from the people and cars around the room. Together with the drinks, coffee and food, the music helped turn the launch into much more than a conventional car meet.

Of course, no Design911 event would be complete without Porsche. The cars provided a striking backdrop to the evening and demonstrated how naturally the new venue can bring together automotive displays and hospitality.

That combination is central to the idea behind The Lounge. It is somewhere to appreciate special cars, but it is also a place to sit down, have something to eat and spend time with other enthusiasts.

A new home for the automotive community

The response to the soft launch showed us how much demand there is for relaxed, well-organised automotive events in Essex.

Traditional car shows will always have their place, but The Lounge offers something different. It brings the atmosphere indoors and creates an event that can continue into the evening, with food and hospitality built into the experience from the beginning.

The location at Design911 also means guests are visiting the home of one of the UK’s leading Porsche parts specialists. From classic air-cooled cars to the latest Porsche models, our everyday work covers the full range of the brand. The Lounge allows us to share more of that world with the people who follow, support and work with Design911.

Future events will not be limited to Porsche alone. We want the venue to welcome owners and enthusiasts from across the motoring community, with different themes offering something new on each visit.

Supercars Europe x Design911 Car Enthusiasts Night

The Supercars Europe x Design911 Car Enthusiasts Night brings together Porsche cars, supercars, classics and modified builds for a relaxed evening at The Lounge. It is designed for owners and enthusiasts who want to see interesting cars, meet like-minded people and enjoy good food and drinks in a welcoming setting.

Tacos ’N Turbos

After tacos proved such a strong match for the soft launch, they are returning for Tacos ’N Turbos. Expect an evening centred around turbocharged machinery, street food and plenty of conversation inside The Lounge.

Cars & Coffee

Join Porschenomics for a Sunday morning of Porsche, coffee and good company at Design911’s brand-new lounge.

Bring your Porsche, grab a coffee and spend the morning surrounded by fellow owners and enthusiasts. Whether you drive a classic 911, modern GT car, an air-cooled icon or something a little more unusual, all Porsches are welcome.

Pasta ’N Porsches

Pasta ’N Porsches puts two crowd favourites together for another relaxed gathering. Porsche owners and fans can enjoy an evening of cars and fresh pasta while meeting other members of the local community.

Wings ’N Wheels

The food theme changes again for Wings ’N Wheels. This event will bring another selection of cars to Hutton, accompanied by wings, drinks and the informal atmosphere that defines The Lounge.

The beginning of something new

The Lounge soft launch gave us a first glimpse of what this venue can become. The combination of Porsche cars, tacos, live music and a great group of guests made it an ideal opening night, and we would like to thank everyone who helped bring the space together so quickly.

We would also like to thank everybody who attended and supported the first event. Seeing the venue full of people confirmed that The Lounge can become a genuine meeting place for the automotive community in Essex and beyond.
