Porsche 911T Restoration. Rust Damage and Re-Spray.

By Tom on Friday, May 3, 2019

Recently, we had a 911T come to us, for a simple respray. As I’m sure you Porsche fans know, stripping down a 50-year-old car is likely to uncover more problems then you went in with. Unfortunately, this was the case with this example, whilst the car has been well looked after by its owners, there is little anyone can do to stop the spread of rust on the frame of the car.

This car required some work on both the frame and the panels of the car in order to get it up to a paintable condition. Painting over damaged panels would be a waste of money as the paint job will not be as good as it could be. And leaving the frame in a chronic state would be a crime! Luckily for us this customer was very understanding and willing to spend the extra money to get his car back in good nick.

Our expert Bodyshop technician even had to weld in an entirely new parcel shelf as the old one was in tatters. You can check out our video of this process here.

Once we sorted out the rust and structural problems, it was time for the lick of paint that the car was originally booked in for!

Now the car has been painted it looks dozens of years younger! And by repairing the rust and structural damage, the owner has secured the value of the car for decades to come! All that is left is to put her all back together again and return her.
