What This Product Does
The adapters provide the interface required to install 996 GT3 intake manifolds on compatible air-cooled 3.6ltr engines. Their tapered internal form matches the selected cylinder-head port to the manifold's 49mm bore, while the compact design helps reduce interference around the idle-air control system, intake boot and engine-bay insulation.
Functions
- Connects 996 GT3 intake manifolds to three-bolt air-cooled cylinder heads
- Transitions the selected intake-port diameter to the manifold's 49mm bore
- Maintains a compact overall intake-system height
- Supports Adapt Motorsport fuel-rail installations
- Positions the injector above the original intake-port relief
- Accommodates long, medium and short Bosch injector formats
Technical Details
- Precision CNC-machined from high-grade aluminium with a black anodised finish
- Standard adapter height: 78mm
- Tall adapter option: 113mm, providing an additional 35mm of runner length
- 42mm adapters suit standard 964 ports, which measure approximately 41.5mm
- 44mm adapters suit standard 993 ports, which measure approximately 43.5mm; 46mm options suit applicable non-standard or RS ports
- Compatible with Bosch EV1, EV6 and EV14 fuel injectors using 14mm O-ring fittings
Kit Contents
- Six CNC-machined aluminium intake adapters
- Four fuel-rail spacer posts
- Four bolts for standard full-length Bosch injectors
The spacer posts are marked so they can be shortened for medium- or short-length injectors. Intake manifolds, rubber joiners, injectors and hose clamps are not included. Fuel-rail-equipped configurations and an advanced single fuel rail with an integrated pressure regulator and damper are optional versions of the kit.
Why Replacement Matters
Correct adapter dimensions are essential when combining the later GT3 manifold with air-cooled three-bolt cylinder heads. Matching the port size maintains a suitable transition into the cylinder head, while the specified adapter height and injector position help the converted intake assembly fit and operate as intended.
FAQs
- Which size suits a standard Porsche 964?
Select the 42mm adapter for a standard 41.5mm 964 intake port. - Which size suits a standard Porsche 993?
Select the 44mm adapter for a standard 43.5mm 993 intake port. - When is the 46mm version appropriate?
It is intended for applicable RS engines or cylinder heads with non-standard enlarged ports. Confirm the measured port diameter first. - Can different injector lengths be used?
Yes. The marked spacer posts can be shortened to suit long, medium or short Bosch injectors with 14mm O-ring fittings. - What is the difference between the standard and tall adapters?
The standard version is 78mm high. The tall version measures 113mm, adding 35mm to the intake runner length. - Are the No PS versions suitable for a standard 964 or 993?
No. They are for installations without a hydraulic power-steering pump, such as some G Model conversions or vehicles using electric power steering.
