This Adapt Motorsport E-Throttle conversion kit replaces the original throttle centre section fitted to Porsche 964 and non-VarioRam 993 intake manifolds. It combines a Bosch 74mm electronic throttle with a CNC-machined resonance tube assembly and Bosch T-MAP sensing.
Fits:
- Porsche 911 1974-1977 2.7L / 1976-77 3.0 Carrera
- Porsche 911 1978-1983 3.0L / SC
- Porsche 911 1984-1986 3.2L
- Porsche 911 1987-1989 3.2L G50
- Porsche 964 (911) C2 1989-93
- Porsche 964 (911) C4 1989-93
- Porsche 993 (911) C2 1994-95
- Porsche 993 (911) C4 1994-95
- Porsche 993 (911) C2S 1994-95
- Porsche 993 (911) C4S 1994-95
What This Product Does
The kit converts the 964 / non-VarioRam 993 inlet manifolds from mechanical or cable-operated throttle control to electronic drive-by-wire operation. When used with a suitable aftermarket ECU and correctly calibrated, the throttle can also perform electronic idle-control functions without the factory idle-air bypass valve.
Functions
- Replaces the original Porsche throttle centre section.
- Provides electronically managed throttle control.
- Combines intake-air temperature and manifold-pressure measurement through a Bosch T-MAP sensor.
- Removes ageing throttle cables or mechanical linkages from the control system.
- Supports ECU-managed idle control when correctly configured.
- Allows compatible engine management to support features such as cruise control, automatic throttle blipping, traction control and boost control.
Technical Details
- Bosch 74mm electronic throttle with connector kit.
- CNC-machined aluminium throttle intake adapter.
- CNC-machined aluminium resonance tube assembly with flap, sealed roller bearings and vacuum actuator.
- Choice of 1.15 bar T-MAP sensor for naturally aspirated applications or 3.0 bar sensor for turbo applications.
- T-MAP connector kit, throttle and sensor fasteners, and vacuum hose included with the centre-section kit.
- The vacuum kit is not included with the centre-section configuration.
Kit Includes:
- CNC machined aluminium Throttle intake adapter
- CNC machined aluminium resonance tube assembly including flap assembly, sealed roller bearings and vacuum actuator
- Bosch 74mm Electronic Throttle and connector kit
- Bosch T-MAP sensor 1.1 bar or 3.0bar as standard options, with connector kit
- Fasteners for throttle and T-MAP.
-
Vacuum hose
Additional Parts Required
- Vacuum solenoid and canister.
- Air filter and suitable adapter.
- Rubber sleeves and hose clamps for the intake-manifold ports; compatible original Porsche components may be reused.
- A compatible electronic accelerator pedal, aftermarket ECU and appropriate wiring, programming and safety calibration.
Optional Components
- 964/993 vacuum kit and mounting hardware.
- 964/993 electronic accelerator pedal kit.
- 993 adapter for retaining the factory rubber intake, airflow meter and airbox.
- 964 adapter for the factory rubber intake and airbox, including an airflow-meter delete kit.
- 964/993 air-filter adapter kit or advanced fuel rail kit.
Why Replacement Matters
Converting to drive-by-wire removes cable drag, stretch and resistance from multi-part mechanical linkages. It also enables the fitted engine-management system to control throttle movement and idle behaviour electronically. Installation and calibration should be completed by an experienced technician using suitable ECU safety strategies.
