What This Product Does

The compressor raises refrigerant pressure and moves it around the air conditioning circuit. This enables the system to remove heat from cabin air and supports moisture removal during demisting. OE Match develops replacement components around Porsche applications, using original references and specification checks to assess suitability.

Functions

  • Compresses refrigerant vapour for the cooling cycle.
  • Circulates refrigerant through the air conditioning circuit.
  • Supports cabin cooling and air dehumidification.

Technical Details

  • Supplied references: 8T0260805N and PAB820803.
  • Refrigerant requirement: R134A; vehicle option code KK1.
  • Internal diagram application: 95B.1 Macan 2014–18, R4 2,0 TFSI, PR:DM0.
  • Application covers the specified 2.0L I4 petrol variants only.

Symptoms of Fault

  • Vent airflow remains warm despite a cooling request.
  • Cooling becomes intermittent or noticeably weaker.
  • Rattling or knocking develops around the compressor.
  • Oil traces appear near a leaking compressor seal.
  • Diagnostic pressure checks indicate inadequate compression.

Why Replacement Matters

A compressor may require renewal following seizure, leakage, excessive mechanical noise or loss of pressure generation. Establish the cause before fitting a replacement: refrigerant loss, insufficient lubrication, contamination and restrictions elsewhere in the circuit can contribute to failure. Internal damage may also release debris that requires further attention during repair.

FAQs

  • Will regassing resolve weak cooling?
Not necessarily. Check for leaks and confirm compressor operation rather than assuming a refrigerant top-up will solve the fault.
  • Should the drier and circuit be checked?
Yes. Assess drier replacement and cleaning requirements, particularly after an internal compressor failure.
  • What about compressor oil?
Confirm the specified oil and required quantity during installation; do not assume the supplied oil charge suits every repair.
  • Who should install it?
Refrigerant-system repairs should be undertaken by an appropriately qualified technician.
