Check fitment for your specific vehicle (model, year, engine) before ordering.

What This Product Does

A blank shank is the mechanical blade from which a key is cut. Its profile and finished cutting pattern must suit the relevant lock; it is not an electrical ignition switch or a replacement lock cylinder.

Functions

  • Provides an uncut blade for key duplication or replacement.
  • Supports mechanical lock operation once correctly matched and cut.

Technical Details

  • Brand: OE Match.
  • Supplied references: 91153890300 and 91453190310.

Symptoms of Fault

A worn key blade or difficulty turning a key warrants inspection. Confirm whether the problem lies with the blade, cutting pattern or lock before choosing a replacement.

Why Replacement Matters

A correctly specified and cut replacement can address blade wear or provide a spare. Replacing the shank alone will not repair worn lock internals or electrical ignition faults.

FAQs

Is this a ready-cut key?
No. This is a blank shank requiring cutting to suit the intended lock.

What should be checked before cutting?
Compare the original blade profile, vehicle application and relevant part reference. Have a key-cutting specialist confirm suitability.

This mechanism works with the vehicle’s central locking system and door latch hardware to ensure secure door closure, correct electrical unlocking and reliable function every time you enter or exit the vehicle.

What the Front Passenger Door Lock Mechanism Does

The door lock mechanism is an essential component of your Porsche’s door security and access system. It performs key functions such as:

  • Securing the front passenger door when locked via key fob, interior switch or automatic lock
  • Engaging and releasing the latch during door opening and closing
  • Communicating with central locking to synchronise all vehicle doors
  • Ensuring proper alignment between the door and striker plate
  • Maintaining weather and vibration-resistant closure

In modern Porsches, this mechanism often includes electronic actuation combined with mechanical latch elements, ensuring responsive and quiet operation.

Why Door Lock Mechanisms Fail

Door lock mechanisms can wear out or malfunction due to both mechanical and electrical factors:

  • Actuator motor fatigue from frequent use
  • Internal gear wear and plastic component degradation
  • Corrosion or water ingress over time
  • Misalignment or sagging from hinge wear
  • Wiring or connector failure in central locking circuits
  • Physical stress from rough operation or impact

Common signs of a failing door lock mechanism include:

  • Door not locking or unlocking reliably with key fob or interior switch
  • Door stays locked/unlocked intermittently
  • Unusual clicking, grinding or buzzing noises when locking/unlocking
  • Alarm triggering without cause
  • Door not latching securely when shut

Because this mechanism works closely with the vehicle’s central locking and alarm systems, failures can impact security, convenience and peace of mind.

When You Should Replace It

You should consider replacing the front passenger door lock mechanism if:

  • You experience intermittent or failed locking/unlocking
  • The door won’t latch securely or opens unexpectedly
  • The central locking system shows fault codes related to door circuits
  • Audible actuator noises occur without door action
  • You are repairing a vehicle that has been water-damaged or has corroded lock parts

Prompt replacement restores proper security, consistent lock performance and seamless integration with your Porsche’s locking and alarm systems.

 Key Benefits at a Glance

  • OEM-equivalent replacement door lock mechanism
  • Restores secure front passenger door locking
  • Compatible with central locking systems
  • Eliminates intermittent or failed lock action
  • Suitable for multiple Porsche models (Macan, Panamera, 718, 981, 991, Cayenne)
  • Improves convenience, security and reliability
