The BorgWarner Turbocharger is a replacement forced-induction component for compatible Porsche applications. A turbocharger operates by using energy from the engine's exhaust gases to spin a turbine. This turbine is connected by a shaft to a compressor wheel, which compresses the incoming air before it enters the engine.

Exhaust gases leaving the engine drive the turbocharger's turbine wheel. The turbine is connected to a compressor wheel on the intake side.
