This right-hand OE Match cam line is intended for selected classic Porsche 911 and 930 engines equipped with pressure-fed chain tensioners. It routes pressurised engine oil within the upgraded tensioner and camshaft lubrication arrangement.

What This Product Does

The line carries pressurised oil to the right-hand camshaft and chain-tensioner assembly. Maintaining an intact, correctly sealed line helps preserve oil delivery around the cam housing and allows the pressure-fed tensioner system to operate as intended.

Functions

  • Routes engine oil to the right-hand cam and tensioner assembly
  • Supports operation of an upgraded pressure-fed chain tensioner
  • Provides a sealed connection between rigid and flexible sections
  • Replaces an aged, damaged or leaking cam oil line

Symptoms of Fault

  • Oil seepage where the flexible hose meets the metal sections
  • Fresh oil around the cam housing, unions or chain covers
  • A burning-oil smell when escaping oil reaches hot engine components
  • Smoke from the engine area following a journey
  • Oil staining on the engine casing or nearby heat shields
  • Leakage that becomes more noticeable as the engine warms

Why Replacement Matters

Age, repeated heat cycles and vibration can weaken the flexible section or its joints. Renewing a leaking line helps control oil loss and protects surrounding components from contamination. The unions and mating surfaces should be inspected during installation, and the correct extension, seals and supporting fittings should be confirmed for the vehicle.

FAQs

  • Is this line suitable for a standard early tensioner system?
No. It is specified for cars fitted with the upgraded pressure-fed tensioner arrangement.
  • Where do these lines commonly leak?
Seepage frequently develops around unions or where the flexible and metal sections are joined.
  • Can a leaking union simply be tightened?
The fitting and sealing surfaces should be checked first. Excessive tightening can damage the union or adjoining components.
  • Should the opposite-side line also be inspected?
Yes. Lines of a similar age may have experienced the same heat cycles and material deterioration.
