Cardan Shaft
This OE match cardan shaft (also known as a prop shaft or drive shaft) is a direct replacement for the original Porsche component used in Panamera 970 Turbo models. It transfers power from the transmission to the rear differential, enabling vehicle movement.

Fits:
Porsche 970.1 Panamera Turbo 2009 - 2013
Porsche 970.2 Panamera Turbo 2014 - 2016

Diagram ref no 1

Engineered to factory specifications, it ensures precise fitment and seamless integration into the drivetrain system.

Installed along the vehicle’s central tunnel, the shaft connects the gearbox output to the rear differential, transmitting rotational power efficiently across the drivetrain. It is designed for high-torque applications, particularly suited to the 4.8L V8 Turbo engines, and is built to withstand heavy loads, high speeds, and continuous operation.

This component transfers engine torque from the transmission to the rear wheels via the differential. It ensures smooth and efficient power delivery, allowing the vehicle to accelerate and maintain performance without vibration or drivetrain loss.

Function
Transfers power from gearbox to rear differential
•  Maintains smooth rotational motion under load
•  Reduces drivetrain vibration through balanced construction
•  Supports high-torque performance in turbocharged engines
•  Ensures efficient power delivery to driven wheels

A worn or damaged cardan shaft can cause vibration, drivetrain noise, and inefficient power transfer. Over time, bearings and joints can wear, leading to imbalance and potential drivetrain failure. Replacing the shaft restores smooth operation, protects drivetrain components, and ensures optimal performance.

When to replace
Noticeable vibration under acceleration or at speed
Clunking or drivetrain noise from under vehicle
Worn or failing centre support bearing
During major drivetrain or transmission service
Visible damage or imbalance in shaft assembly
