Installed within the upper rear suspension assembly, the control arm - also referred to as the rear upper track control arm - connects the rear wheel carrier to the chassis and controls wheel movement throughout suspension travel. It plays a critical role in maintaining rear wheel alignment and chassis stability during braking, acceleration, cornering, and uneven road conditions.

A worn rear upper control arm can cause suspension knocks, poor rear-end stability, inaccurate wheel alignment, and uneven tyre wear. Replacing worn suspension arms restores predictable handling, improves chassis response, and helps maintain correct rear suspension geometry.

The rear upper control arm stabilises and controls rear wheel movement while maintaining proper suspension geometry and alignment. It supports accurate handling, rear axle stability, and consistent tyre contact with the road surface.

Function
•  Maintains correct rear suspension geometry
•  Controls rear wheel movement during suspension travel
•  Supports stable handling and steering precision
•  Helps reduce uneven tyre wear
•  Absorbs suspension and cornering loads
•  Restores rear axle stability and alignment accuracy

Over time, suspension control arms and their bushings wear due to continuous road vibration, cornering forces, and suspension movement. A worn or damaged rear upper control arm may cause knocking noises, unstable handling, inaccurate wheel alignment, or uneven tyre wear. Replacing worn arms restores factory suspension performance and improves overall driving stability.

When to replace
•  Rear suspension knocking or clunking noises
•  Uneven rear tyre wear
•  Rear-end instability during cornering
•  Incorrect rear wheel alignment
•  Worn or cracked suspension bushings#
•  During suspension overhaul or accident repair
