Diagram ref no 8

This lock plate fits on the differential housing assembly, where it is used with the differential housing bolts. It is part of the rear drivetrain / gearbox assembly and helps secure the differential housing fasteners in place.

The lock plate helps prevent the differential housing bolts from loosening under load, vibration, and drivetrain movement. It is an important small fastening component used during differential, gearbox, or rear drivetrain assembly and service.

Functions
Locks differential housing bolts in position
Helps prevent bolt loosening under drivetrain load
 Supports secure differential housing assembly
Helps maintain drivetrain reliability and safety
Provides an OE Match replacement for the original locking plate
Suitable for gearbox, differential, and rear axle service work
Recommended for replacement when the differential housing bolts are removed

Differential lock plates are designed to secure critical fasteners and may lose effectiveness once removed, bent, corroded, or reused. A worn or damaged lock plate may not properly retain the housing bolts, increasing the risk of loosening under load. Replacing the lock plate during differential service helps ensure the assembly is secured correctly and supports long-term drivetrain reliability

When to replace
The differential housing bolts have been removed
The gearbox or differential housing is being serviced
The original lock plate is bent, cracked, corroded, or damaged
The locking tab no longer holds the bolt securely
Rear drivetrain repair or rebuild work is being carried out
The part is missing from the differential housing assembly
As preventative replacement during transmission or differential reassembly
