Door Contact Switch - sold each

OE Match replacement door contact switch for Porsche 356 models. Designed to restore reliable operation of the interior courtesy lighting system, this switch activates the interior light when the door is opened and switches it off when the door is closed.

Manufactured as an original-style replacement, it is ideal for repairing faulty interior lighting or replacing worn electrical components during classic Porsche restoration.

What Does the Door Contact Switch Do?

The switch is fitted within the door aperture and operates the interior courtesy light circuit.

Opening the door releases the switch, allowing the interior light to illuminate. Closing the door operates the switch and turns the light off.

Why Does It Fail?

Over time, repeated operation, moisture and corrosion can cause the electrical contacts or switch mechanism to deteriorate.

Common problems include worn contacts, sticking plungers, damaged connections and general age-related wear.

When Should It Be Replaced?

Replacement is recommended if:

  • The interior light fails to illuminate when the door opens.
  • The courtesy light remains on after closing the door.
  • The light operates intermittently.

Later Porsche 356B T6 and 356C models generally use a different switch, reference 64461560106.
