Designed for owners who transport their Porsche on a trailer or vehicle transporter, these tie-downs provide dedicated front attachment points for securing the car with suitable transport straps. They mount at the forward area of the front suspension and allow tow straps to be attached without wrapping them around or contacting the front wheels.

Manufactured from 3/16-inch high-strength structural steel, the tie-downs feature a highly visible red powder-coated finish for durability and easy identification underneath the vehicle.

What This Product Does:
The Fabspeed front tie-downs provide dedicated attachment points for securing a Porsche 981 during transportation.

When loading a performance car onto a trailer, suitable tie-down straps must be attached to secure locations capable of handling the loads generated during transport.

These tie-downs provide accessible mounting points for the front of the vehicle, helping avoid the need to route straps around the wheels.

They are particularly useful for:

  • Track-day vehicle transportation
  • Race-car trailering
  • Long-distance vehicle transport
  • Car transporter use
  • Workshop transportation
  • Owners who regularly trailer their Porsche
  • Vehicles where convenient, repeatable tie-down points are desirable

Why Dedicated Tie Down Points Matter:
Using a dedicated tie-down point makes the process of securing the vehicle more straightforward and repeatable.

Fabspeed specifically designed these front mounts so that tow straps can be installed without contacting the front wheels.

This is important because incorrectly positioned straps can interfere with:

  • Wheels
  • Tyres
  • Suspension components
  • Brake components
  • Bodywork
  • Underbody components

Dedicated attachment points provide a more accessible location for connecting suitable transport straps.

Symptoms Of Wear Or Failure:
Tie-downs are not conventional wear components and do not require replacement at a fixed service interval.

However, because they can be subjected to significant loads during vehicle transportation, they should be inspected regularly.

Signs that inspection or replacement may be required include:

  • Visible bending
  • Distortion
  • Cracks
  • Elongated attachment openings
  • Damaged mounting points
  • Loose mounting hardware
  • Missing mounting hardware
  • Severe corrosion
  • Deep surface damage
  • Significant impact damage
  • Damaged or heavily worn strap-contact areas
  • Movement at the mounting point
  • Damage following an incorrectly secured transport event
  • Damage following excessive loading

Any tie-down that has become visibly distorted or structurally damaged should not continue to be relied upon for securing the vehicle.

Why Replacement Matters:
A tie-down is only useful if it remains structurally secure.

Replacing a confirmed bent, cracked, severely corroded or otherwise damaged tie-down helps:

  • Maintain a dependable vehicle securing point
  • Provide secure attachment for suitable transport straps
  • Maintain correct tie-down geometry
  • Reduce the risk of attachment-point failure
  • Avoid relying on damaged hardware during transportation
  • Maintain convenient access when loading the vehicle
  • Protect the vehicle during trailer transportation

A visibly damaged tie-down should not be treated as merely cosmetic because it may be subjected to substantial forces while the vehicle is being transported.
