The Fabspeed Porsche 991.2 Turbo / Turbo S XperTune Performance Software is a specialist ECU tuning solution designed to increase horsepower, torque and engine responsiveness on Porsche 911 Turbo and Turbo S models manufactured between 2017 and 2020.

Developed specifically for Porsche's 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged flat-six engine, XperTune optimises the factory engine management calibration to unlock additional performance potential while maintaining the sophisticated electronic control systems used by the vehicle.

The Porsche 991.2 Turbo and Turbo S feature advanced engine management systems that control ignition timing, fuel delivery, turbocharger boost pressure and numerous other operating parameters.

In standard form, these systems are calibrated to provide a balance of performance, reliability, emissions compliance, fuel quality tolerance and everyday driving refinement.

Fabspeed's XperTune software modifies selected engine management parameters to create a more performance-focused calibration suited to the vehicle's mechanical configuration.

The XperTune system uses a hybrid ECU tuning process.

Stage 1 – Initial ECU Unlocking

• The Porsche 991.2 Turbo's ECU requires a one-time unlocking procedure to enable subsequent handheld programming.
• The ECU must be removed and sent to Fabspeed for this initial process, following the manufacturer's instructions.

Stage 2 – Reading the Factory Calibration

• Once the ECU is unlocked and installed, the handheld tuning device connects to the vehicle's OBD-II diagnostic port.
• The device reads the relevant original ECU information and stores the factory calibration.

Stage 3 – Vehicle-Specific Calibration

• The factory information and completed vehicle specification form are provided to Fabspeed.
• Their tuning team prepares a calibration based on the vehicle's engine specification, fuel requirements and declared modifications.

Stage 4 – Installing the Performance Software

• Using a compatible Windows computer, the customer transfers the supplied performance calibration to the handheld tuner.
• The device is then connected to the vehicle to program the ECU.

Stage 5 – Returning to Standard Calibration

• After the initial unlocking process, the original factory calibration can be restored using the handheld device without removing the ECU again.
