Radiator Grille Set

Protect the exposed front cooling system on your Porsche 911 with this premium Radiator Grille Set, designed for the Porsche 996 turbo and 996 Carrera 4S models from 2001 to 2005. Manufactured from black powder-coated aluminium mesh, these grille inserts fit neatly behind the original bumper openings to help protect the radiators and air conditioning condensers from road debris, leaves, stones and track-day hazards.

Fits:

  • Porsche 996 C4S 3.6L 09/01-2005
  • Porsche 996 TURBO 2000-05

The Porsche 996 turbo uses left, right and centre grille protection, while the 996 C4S uses left and right grille protection only. Each kit is designed to enhance protection while retaining the original bumper appearance with a subtle, more aggressive look.

What Do Radiator Grilles Do?

Radiator grilles help protect the cooling components positioned behind the front bumper. They act as a durable mesh barrier, helping to stop stones, leaves, insects and track debris from reaching the radiator cores and AC condensers.

Their key functions include:

  • Protecting radiators and condensers from impact damage.
  • Reducing build-up of leaves, grit and insects.
  • Helping maintain airflow through the cooling system.
  • Reducing the risk of blocked or damaged cooling fins.
  • Adding a clean, motorsport-inspired appearance behind the OEM bumper grilles.

Why Do Radiators and Condensers Fail?

The radiators and AC condensers on the Porsche 996 sit low in the front bumper, making them vulnerable to debris thrown up from the road. Over time, exposed cooling components can suffer from:

  • Stone impacts puncturing radiator or condenser cores.
  • Leaves and dirt trapping moisture against the cooling fins.
  • Corrosion caused by road salt and damp debris.
  • Bent fins reducing cooling efficiency.
  • Track debris damaging exposed front-mounted components.

Protective mesh grille inserts help reduce these risks and can help prevent costly radiator or condenser replacement.

When Should Radiator Grilles Be Installed or Replaced?

Radiator grilles are best installed as a preventative upgrade before damage occurs. They are especially recommended when buying a Porsche 996 Turbo or C4S, replacing radiators or condensers, refurbishing the front bumper, preparing the car for track use, or carrying out restoration work.

Replace existing grille inserts if they become bent, corroded, loose, heavily chipped or damaged after an impact.
