Symptoms of Fault
When assessing the existing tank installation, relevant concerns include petrol odours after refuelling, dampness or staining near connections, damaged fittings and visible deterioration. These signs can also originate from filler hoses, seals or breather plumbing; inspect the surrounding components before deciding which part needs replacement.
Why Replacement Matters
This tank is intended for projects requiring a centre-fill layout and retro styling. Where the existing installation is damaged or deteriorated, assess associated hoses, seals and mounting hardware alongside the tank rather than assuming a new tank alone will resolve every fault.
FAQs
Can the factory sender be retained?
The tank accepts the original sender; its condition should be checked during installation.
Which mounting components are supplied?
Two brackets are included for attachment to the chassis. A strut brace is also recommended to help secure the tank.
Does a fuel odour confirm tank failure?
No. Inspect filler connections, sealing components and ventilation hoses to establish the source.
