Gearbox ground strap
This OE Match gearbox ground strap is a replacement earth strap used to connect the gearbox/transmission to the vehicle chassis. It provides a reliable electrical ground path between the drivetrain and body, helping the vehicle’s electrical system operate correctly

The gearbox ground strap completes the electrical circuit between the transmission and chassis. A secure ground connection is essential for starter motor performance, charging system function, ignition reliability, lighting, and general electrical stability.

Functions
•  Connects the gearbox/transmission to the chassis ground point
•  Provides a reliable earth path for the drivetrain
•  Supports correct starter motor operation

Ground straps are exposed to moisture, road dirt, corrosion, vibration, and age-related wear. Over time, the strap can fray, corrode, loosen, or develop high resistance, which may lead to slow cranking, starting problems, charging issues, flickering lights, or unpredictable electrical faults. Replacing the gearbox ground strap helps restore a strong electrical connection and improves overall reliability.

When to replace
•  The original ground strap is corroded, frayed, cracked, or damaged
•  The gearbox or transmission has been removed or refitted
•  The car has slow cranking or intermittent starting issues
