Diagram ref no 9

The outer wheel bearing supports the rear wheel hub / axle assembly and allows the wheel to rotate smoothly under load. It helps maintain correct wheel alignment, supports vehicle weight at the rear axle, and reduces friction between rotating and fixed suspension components.

Functions
•  Supports the rear wheel hub / axle assembly
•  Allows smooth rear wheel rotation
•  Helps maintain correct rear axle alignment and stability
•  Supports vehicle load through the rear wheel bearing assembly
•  Reduces friction and wear between rotating components
•  Replaces worn, noisy, loose, or damaged original wheel bearings
•  OE Match replacement for rear axle service and restoration.

Why Replace This Part?
Wheel bearings are exposed to road load, heat, vibration, grease, moisture, and long-term rotation. Over time, the bearing can wear, pit, loosen, seize, or become noisy. A worn rear wheel bearing may cause humming, rumbling, grinding, wheel play, vibration, uneven tyre wear, or unsafe rear axle movement. Replacing the bearing helps restore smooth wheel rotation and safe rear suspension operation.

When to Replace This Part
•   Humming, rumbling, or grinding noise is heard from the rear wheel area
•   Wheel play or looseness is found during inspection
•   The bearing feels rough, dry, seized, or worn
•   Grease leakage or contamination is present around the bearing area
•   The rear hub, axle, or suspension is being serviced
•   The vehicle has failed inspection due to wheel bearing play
•   The car is undergoing Porsche 911 rear axle restoration
