Fuse box original bakelite type Porsche 356 A/B/C  ›  64461280100

The OE Match Fuse Box is an original-style Bakelite 12-pole fuse box designed for classic Porsche 356 electrical systems.

• Porsche 356 A/B/C 1.5-1.6 01/55-12/65

Manufactured to reproduce the appearance and layout of the period fuse box, it provides a suitable replacement for an original unit that has become cracked, burnt, corroded or electrically unreliable while helping retain the authentic appearance of the vehicle's electrical installation.

The fuse box forms a central part of the vehicle's electrical protection system. Individual electrical circuits are routed through replaceable fuses so that excessive current can interrupt the affected circuit before wiring or electrical components suffer more serious damage.

On vehicles now approaching or exceeding sixty years of age, deterioration of the original fuse block, terminals and connections can contribute to intermittent electrical problems, excessive resistance and heat generation.

Replacing a damaged fuse box helps restore secure fuse retention, reliable electrical connections and proper circuit protection.

What This Product Does:
The fuse box provides a secure location for the vehicle's electrical fuses and associated wiring connections.

It is designed to:

• Hold the vehicle's individual electrical fuses securely.
• Distribute electrical power between protected circuits.
• Provide connection points for the vehicle wiring harness.
• Allow each circuit to be protected by the correct fuse rating.
• Interrupt electrical current if a protected circuit becomes overloaded.
• Help protect wiring from excessive current.
• Provide convenient access for fuse inspection and replacement.
• Replace a cracked, burnt or corroded original fuse block.
• Maintain the period-correct appearance of the Porsche 356 electrical system.
• Support reliable operation of lighting and other fused electrical equipment.

• Intermittent electrical equipment operation.
• Lights occasionally cutting out.
• Electrical accessories working when the fuse is moved or touched.
• Poor fuse contact.
• Fuses sitting loosely in their holders.
• Corroded fuse terminals.
• Green or white oxidation around electrical connections.
• Burnt or blackened terminals.
• Heat discolouration.
• Cracked Bakelite housing.
• Broken fuse-retaining clips.
• Loose wiring terminals.
• Melted or damaged fuse ends.
• Fuse box becoming unusually warm.
• Voltage drop across a fuse connection.
• Electrical circuits operating weakly or inconsistently.
• Complete loss of an otherwise functional circuit.
• Evidence of previous overheating or electrical repair.

Replacing a damaged unit helps restore:

• Secure fuse retention.
• Clean electrical contact.
• Reliable circuit continuity.
• Proper circuit protection.
• Reduced electrical resistance.
• Reduced risk of localised overheating.
• Correct wiring support.
• Reliable operation of fused electrical equipment.
• Period-correct appearance.

For a restored Porsche 356, replacing an unreliable or badly damaged fuse block can prevent repeated electrical troubleshooting and provide a dependable foundation for the rest of the wiring system.
