What This Product Does

The relay provides electrical switching for the ignition cut-off circuit. It is a separate component from the ignition key switch and lock barrel.

Symptoms of Fault

Possible signs include inconsistent circuit operation, a relay that clicks without producing an output, or heat damage around its connections. These symptoms do not identify the relay alone; wiring and terminal faults should also be investigated.

Why Replacement Matters

Renewal is appropriate when testing confirms worn relay contacts or an internal switching fault. Inspect the socket and associated connections as well, rather than replacing the relay without establishing the cause.

FAQs

What should be checked before replacement?
Confirm the existing relay number, then inspect its seating, connector condition, relevant fuses and earth connections.

Does a clicking relay prove it works?
No. The operating mechanism may respond while damaged contacts fail to pass current correctly.

Check fitment for your specific vehicle (model, year, engine) before ordering.
