What This Product Does
The suction hose carries refrigerant through the low-pressure side of the air-conditioning system. It connects sections of the refrigerant circuit while accommodating movement, vibration and temperature changes during vehicle operation.
Functions
- Transfers refrigerant through the A/C suction circuit
- Helps maintain a sealed path between connected components
- Accommodates normal vibration and movement within the vehicle
- Supports correct refrigerant circulation and cabin cooling
Technical Details
- Manufacturer: Porsche
- Part number: 99657309307
- Earlier references: 99657309303 and 99657309305
- Hose specification: NW16
- Vehicle configuration: right-hand drive (RHD) only
Symptoms of Fault
- Air conditioning becomes warm again after regassing
- Cooling performance gradually declines as refrigerant escapes
- Oily deposits or leak-detection dye appear around the hose or its joints
- Cracking, abrasion or deterioration is visible on the flexible section
- A hissing noise is heard when refrigerant loss is significant
- The system cannot maintain the specified operating pressure
Why Replacement Matters
A leaking suction hose prevents the air-conditioning circuit from retaining refrigerant and pressure. Regassing alone will not provide a lasting repair if the line is damaged. Replacing the faulty hose allows the system to be evacuated, leak-tested and recharged correctly. Associated O-rings, seals and retaining hardware should also be inspected during installation and renewed where required.
FAQs
- Does the air-conditioning system need regassing after installation?
Yes. The refrigerant circuit must be evacuated, vacuum-tested and recharged using suitable A/C servicing equipment. - Can replacing the O-rings alone repair the leak?
This may be possible when the pipe remains sound and leakage is limited to a joint. A cracked, abraded or deteriorated hose requires replacement. - Is this hose suitable for left-hand-drive vehicles?
No. The supplied application is for right-hand-drive cars only. - Why did the system lose cooling again after a regas?
Repeated refrigerant loss normally indicates a leak. The hose, joints and other circuit components should be inspected before recharging the system.
