The OE Match Radiator Water Fan is a replacement right-hand electric cooling fan for selected Porsche 987 Boxster, Cayman and 997 models.

Mounted at the front of the vehicle behind the right-hand coolant radiator, the fan draws air through the radiator whenever natural airflow created by vehicle movement is insufficient.

This is particularly important when the vehicle is:

Idling.

Moving slowly.

Sitting in traffic.

Operating in hot weather.

Running the air-conditioning system.

Recovering from sustained high-load driving.

Porsche's water-cooled engines depend on continuous circulation of coolant through the front-mounted radiators. At normal road speed, forward movement provides substantial airflow through the radiator cores. When road speed falls, however, the electric cooling fans must provide the airflow needed to remove heat from the coolant.

A worn or failed right-hand fan can therefore allow engine temperature to rise during low-speed driving even though the cooling system may appear normal at higher speeds.

Replacing a defective fan helps restore correct airflow through the right-hand radiator and supports stable engine temperature, air-conditioning performance and overall cooling-system reliability.
