This Rear Shock Absorber Bump Stop is an OE-style rear suspension damping component designed for Porsche 991 models equipped with PASM (Porsche Active Suspension Management). It cushions suspension movement at full compression and protects the rear shock absorber assembly from excessive impact loads.
Sold individually, 2 required -  fits left or right suspension strut

Fits:
For cars with PASM
Porsche 991.1 Carrera 2012 - 2016
Porsche 991.2 Carrera 2017 - 2019

This OE match rear shock absorber bump stop is a direct replacement for the original Porsche suspension component fitted to Porsche 991 Carrera, Carrera S, Turbo, Turbo S, and related PASM-equipped variants. Manufactured to OE specifications, it is designed to provide progressive suspension cushioning while preserving factory ride quality and handling characteristics.

Installed on the rear shock absorber shaft beneath the dust cover, the bump stop acts as a secondary suspension cushion during heavy suspension compression. When the suspension reaches near full travel under hard cornering, braking, uneven road surfaces, or pothole impacts, the bump stop absorbs excess force before the suspension reaches its mechanical limit. This helps prevent metal-to-metal contact and protects the shock absorber, mounts, and chassis from damage.

Function
Cushions rear suspension at full compression
Protects rear shock absorbers from impact damage
  Prevents metal-to-metal suspension contact
Helps maintain stable ride comfort and handling
•  Reduces stress on suspension mounts and chassis

Over time, bump stops can deteriorate due to repeated compression, ageing, heat exposure, and moisture. A damaged or collapsed bump stop may reduce suspension protection, increase harsh impacts, and accelerate wear on shock absorbers and mounting components. Replacing worn bump stops restores suspension cushioning, ride comfort, and proper damper protection.

When to replace
Cracked, compressed, or deteriorated bump stop material
Harsh rear suspension impacts or bottoming-out
  During rear shock absorber replacement
  Increased suspension noise or vibration
  Preventative maintenance on higher-mileage vehicles
