Fits:

  • Porsche 911 1978-1983 3.0L / SC

  • Porsche 911 1987-1989 3.2L G50

What This Product Does

These straps hold the vehicle jack in its designated luggage-compartment position. Their pliable rubber construction maintains tension around the jack, while the metal clips connect the straps to the mounting points. This new-production version uses rubber designed to be more flexible than the original factory component.

Functions

  • Retains the car jack in its intended storage position
  • Helps prevent the jack from moving or rattling while the vehicle is driven
  • Restores missing, damaged or perished original retaining straps
  • Connects to the original-style mounting locations using metal clips

Technical Details

  • Contents: two rubber retaining straps with metal clips
  • Mounting hardware included
  • Reference number: 91172202101
  • Identified in Porsche parts diagrams as a bracket for the jack
  • Used within the luggage-compartment tool and jack assembly
  • Porsche 914 diagram specifies a quantity of two for applicable 1.7 and 1.8 models

Symptoms of Fault

  • Jack moves within its storage area
  • Rattling or knocking from the luggage compartment
  • Rubber has stretched, split or become brittle
  • Metal clips or mounting fittings are missing or damaged
  • The jack cannot be retained securely in its original position

Why Replacement Matters

Age can cause the original rubber to harden, crack or lose tension. Renewing both straps helps restore the intended jack storage arrangement and reduces unwanted movement. Replacing the pair together also provides consistent retention across both mounting points.
