Is a gasket included?
Yes. A mounting gasket is supplied with the pump.

Must a failing pump leak?
No. Bearing deterioration or restricted circulation can occur without an obvious coolant leak.

Can another component cause similar symptoms?
Yes. Thermostat faults, radiator restrictions, trapped air or cooling-fan problems can also cause overheating. Confirm the cause before replacing the pump.

Should the thermostat also be renewed?
Assess its condition during the repair. Overlapping access may make inspection practical, but thermostat replacement depends on the diagnosis.
