Climate control hose sealing ring.
Rubber sealing ring / gasket used in the HVAC/heater/ventilation system of classic 911 / 912 cars. Its sealing points where heater/vent hoses pass through body or bulkhead. Ideal when refurbishing HVAC ducts, replacing heater hoses, restoring classic 911/912 ventilation and heat systems.
Sold each. 2 required per vehicle.

Fits:
Porsche 911 1965 - 1989 all models

Diagram ref no 18

Because over decades the original sealing rings often become brittle, hard, compressed or cracked (due to heat cycles, age, vibration, exposure to cabin air, moisture and dust), they lose their ability to seal properly.

This can lead to:
Unwanted air leaks or drafts into cabin
Water or dust ingress into the interior or into heater ducts
 Poor heating or ventilation performance
Increased cabin noise, wind-noise or fumes entering cabin (especially on vehicles with engine-bay to cabin vents).

Replacing with a correct-spec sealing ring ensures a tight, flexible seal that restores proper HVAC function, occupant comfort, and helps preserve the integrity of the car’s interior and ventilation system.

What Does the Heater Box Drain Hose Do?

The heater box drain hose plays an important role in the operation of the air-cooled Porsche heating system.

Its functions include:

  • Draining condensation and moisture from the heater box.
  • Helping prevent water from collecting inside the heating system.
  • Protecting the heater box and surrounding bodywork from corrosion.
  • Reducing the risk of trapped moisture causing rust or deterioration.
  • Maintaining efficient operation of the heating and ventilation system.

Although often overlooked, this simple hose helps preserve both the heating system and the surrounding chassis.

Why Does the Heater Box Drain Hose Fail?

The original drain hose is continually exposed to heat, moisture, road debris and age, causing the rubber material to deteriorate over time.

Common causes of failure include:

  • Rubber becoming brittle and cracking with age.
  • Splits caused by repeated heat cycles.
  • Hardening due to engine bay temperatures.
  • Blockages from dirt, leaves or road debris.
  • Perishing caused by prolonged exposure to moisture and contaminants.
  • Damage during engine or heater system maintenance.

A damaged or blocked drain hose can allow moisture to remain inside the heater box, increasing the risk of corrosion and reducing heating system efficiency.

When Should It Be Replaced?

Replacement is recommended when:

  • The hose is cracked, split or hardened.
  • Signs of water retention or corrosion are found around the heater box.
  • The heating system is being restored or serviced.
  • The engine is removed, providing easy access.
  • Restoring a classic Porsche to factory specification.
  • Carrying out preventative maintenance on an ageing vehicle.

Replacing the drain hose is an inexpensive way to help protect the heating system and surrounding bodywork from long-term moisture damage.

OE Match Features

  • OE Match quality replacement.
  • Manufactured to replicate original factory dimensions.
  • Durable rubber construction.
  • Correct fit and routing for factory heater box assemblies.
  • Helps maintain proper heater box drainage.
  • Suitable for restoration, repair and preventative maintenance.

Billet HVAC control panel.

rennline

Fits:
Porsche 65-89 911/912/930

The Rennline HVAC control panel is CNC milled from a billet aluminum block and anodized for a classic and elegant dash upgrade. Whether you're trying to clean up the dash on your early 911, or backdating the dash on your G-body car, these HVAC controls are sure to do the job. Featuring simplified markings and updated micro LED indicators, the unit pairs very well with our I12 Billet HVAC Knobs (not included but available separately). OEM plastic units are prone to scratching and fading, while these units are proven to stand the test of time. Installs easily to factory control mechanism.

Note: If installing in a 74-89 car, the dash must be backdated as these controls are smaller than the later controls.

About Climate Control

Porsche Climate Control Systems & Components | Precision Cabin Comfort & Temperature Management

The climate control system in your Porsche maintains perfect cabin temperature and air quality by automatically regulating heating, cooling, and ventilation. Using a combination of sensors, actuators, and control units, it adjusts airflow and temperature to create a consistent and comfortable driving environment — regardless of outside conditions.

At Design911, we offer premium climate control panels, modules, sensors, and actuators designed to meet or exceed original performance standards. Built using advanced materials and precision electronic calibration, our components restore seamless climate management, accurate temperature regulation, and reliable HVAC functionality for all Porsche models.

Whether you’re repairing a faulty control panel, replacing a temperature sensor, or restoring full automatic climate functionality, our Porsche climate control parts deliver the reliability, precision, and comfort you expect.

What Does the Climate Control System Do?

The climate control system automatically manages cabin heating, cooling, and ventilation by regulating air temperature, fan speed, and airflow direction.

Core Functions:

  • Monitors and adjusts cabin and exterior temperature balance.
  • Controls airflow through the heater core and A/C evaporator.
  • Regulates humidity and defogging for optimal visibility.
  • Automatically maintains selected temperature settings.
  • Provides driver and passenger comfort through precise control modules.

A well-functioning system ensures comfort and safety, keeping cabin conditions ideal year-round.

Why Do Climate Control Systems Fail or Malfunction?

Because the system integrates electronic, mechanical, and air distribution components, it is vulnerable to wear, contamination, or electrical failure over time.

Common Causes of Failure Include:

  • Faulty control panels or digital interfaces.
  • Damaged temperature or sunlight sensors.
  • Malfunctioning air distribution flaps or servo motors.
  • Electrical faults in actuators or wiring harnesses.
  • Blocked ventilation ducts or faulty blower motors.

Symptoms of a failing system include inconsistent cabin temperature, non-responsive controls, fogged windows, or unbalanced airflow between zones.

Why Replace Your Porsche Climate Control Components?

Replacing or upgrading malfunctioning climate control components restores reliable temperature management and consistent comfort. High-quality parts ensure proper system communication, energy efficiency, and long-term reliability.

Key Benefits:

  • Restores smooth, accurate temperature regulation.
  • Improves air distribution and cabin comfort.
  • Ensures A/C and heating systems function efficiently.
  • Reduces condensation and prevents window fogging.
  • Compatible with Porsche 911, Cayman, Boxster, Panamera, Macan, and classic models.
  • Ideal for servicing, diagnostics, or system restoration.

Properly functioning climate control enhances both comfort and safety by maintaining clear visibility and stable interior conditions.
