Front Bonnet.
The OE Match Front Bonnet is a premium-quality replacement body panel designed to restore the original appearance, fit and structural integrity of the front luggage compartment on compatible classic Porsche models. Manufactured to OE specifications for dimensions, contours and mounting points, this bonnet provides an accurate factory-style replacement for damaged, corroded or accident-affected original panels.

Fits:
  • Porsche 911 1974-1977 2.7L / 1976-77 3.0 Carrera
  • Porsche 911 1978-1983 3.0L / SC
  • Porsche 911 1984-1986 3.2L
  • Porsche 911 1987-1989 3.2L G50
  • Porsche 911 1975-1977 3.0L Turbo (930)
  • Porsche 911 1978-1989 3.3L Turbo (930)

Manufactured from high-quality automotive-grade pressed steel, the bonnet offers exceptional strength, rigidity and long-term durability while maintaining the correct panel profile and factory body lines. Supplied in a protective grey primer finish, it is ready for final preparation and painting to match the vehicle. Precision-pressed to OE standards, it ensures excellent alignment with the wings, front latch mechanism and surrounding body panels for a professional-quality restoration.

What This Product Does:
  • Restores the original appearance of the front luggage compartment.
  • Protects the luggage compartment and front body structure.
  • Provides a secure mounting point for the bonnet latch and hinges.
  • Maintains correct panel alignment and body gaps.
  • Supports proper fitment of bonnet seals and trim components.
  • Replaces damaged, corroded or accident-affected bonnet panels.
  • Restores factory body styling and structural integrity.
  • Forms an essential part of the vehicle's front body assembly.

Symptoms Of Wear Or Failure:
  • Visible rust or corrosion.
  • Dents, creases or accident damage.
  • Poor bonnet alignment or uneven panel gaps.
  • Difficulty opening or closing the bonnet.
  • Damaged bonnet latch mounting area.
  • Paint bubbling caused by corrosion beneath the surface.
  • Distorted panel affecting surrounding body fitment.
  • Excessive vibration while driving.
  • Water entering the luggage compartment due to poor panel fit.
  • Cosmetic deterioration affecting the vehicle's appearance.

Why Replacement Matters:

  • The front bonnet is continually exposed to weather, road debris, vibration and accidental impact. Over time, corrosion, fatigue or collision damage can affect both its structural integrity and appearance, reducing the quality of panel fitment and potentially allowing water into the luggage compartment.
  • A damaged bonnet can prevent correct latch engagement, compromise body alignment and negatively affect the appearance and value of the vehicle. Corrosion left untreated may spread into adjacent body panels, increasing restoration costs and reducing the originality of a classic Porsche.
  • Replacing a worn or damaged front bonnet restores the factory appearance, structural strength and correct panel alignment of the front bodywork. The OE Match replacement provides OE-style fitment, precision-pressed steel construction and a high-quality grey primer finish, making it the ideal choice for concours restorations, accident repairs and long-term preservation of your Porsche.

This is a steel extension developed to extend an impact bumper bonnet to the earlier long hood style. No modification to the impact bumper lock panel is required. The extension is manufactured from steel that is the same thickness as original bonnets, for ease of welding. Includes the reinforcement skin that is fitted from underneath the bonnet.

We also sell the bumper fill panels to cover the void between early bumpers and the later lock panel, and extended latches to make it easier to open the hood.

About Front Hood / Bonnet

Porsche Front Hood / Bonnet

At Design911, we supply a wide range of front hood / bonnet parts for Porsche models, helping you maintain, personalise and enjoy your car.

Why do Porsche Front Hood / Bonnet matter?

Front Hood / Bonnet panels affect how the front of your Porsche looks, protects underlying components and contributes to overall structural behaviour in everyday use. Over time, they can suffer from dents, corrosion, stone chips, fading or previous repair work, or simply start to look tired compared with the rest of the car. Replacing tired or damaged parts helps your Porsche feel better cared for and can prevent small niggles turning into larger jobs later on.

  • Keep your Porsche looking smart rather than tired or neglected
  • Help protect the surrounding area from dirt and corrosion where relevant
  • Reduce minor niggles such as looseness, rattles or mismatched parts
  • Support long-term enjoyment, pride of ownership and potential resale value

When should you review or replace your Porsche front hood / bonnet?

Checking front hood / bonnet components regularly helps you spot wear, damage or age-related deterioration before it affects appearance, alignment or leads to more expensive repairs later on.

  • Existing parts are worn, cracked, scuffed, faded, corroded or missing
  • You notice looseness, vibration or an untidy appearance around the area they sit in
  • You have had related work carried out and want everything to look and feel consistent
  • You want the car to feel smarter and better cared for in daily use or before resale

If any of these apply, it is a good time to review your front hood / bonnet and replace anything that is past its best, so your Porsche stays dependable and enjoyable to drive.
