Product Information

GT3 manifold electronic throttle conversion kit by Adapt Motorsport for air-cooled Porsche 911 turbo installations with two-bolt cylinder heads.

Fits

  • Porsche 911 1975-1977 3.0L Turbo (930)
  • Porsche 911 1978-1989 3.3L Turbo (930)

What This Product Does

This conversion uses large-volume 996 GT3-style intake manifolds as the basis of an electronic throttle intake system for classic air-cooled Porsche engines. Adapt Motorsport offers purpose-designed cast-aluminium manifolds that account for the shorter cylinder spacing of these engines, together with the fuel delivery, vacuum and resonance-flap components required to form the intake assembly.

Functions

  • Controls intake airflow through a Bosch 82mm electronic throttle body
  • Adapts GT3-style intake hardware to compatible two-bolt turbo cylinder heads
  • Provides fuel rails and spacers for long, medium or short EV14-style injectors
  • Operates the resonance flap through a vacuum canister, solenoid and check valve
  • Provides vacuum connections for the brake booster, idle-air bypass and other systems
  • Measures intake temperature and manifold pressure using a Bosch T-MAP sensor

Technical Details

  • 996 GT3-style intake manifold port diameter: 49mm
  • Two-bolt intake adapters: 40mm or 42mm ports for 3.0ltr and 3.3ltr turbo engines
  • Bosch electronic throttle body diameter: 82mm
  • Standard Bosch T-MAP sensor: 1.15 bar; a 3.0-bar option is also offered
  • Adapt Motorsport manifolds are cast aluminium; the resonance flap and intake T-piece are CNC-machined and black anodised

Base Kit Contents

  • Adapt Motorsport high-flow intake T-piece with vacuum and T-MAP sensor ports
  • Fuel rail kit with fittings
  • Bosch 82mm electronic throttle body and connector kit
  • CNC-machined resonance-flap kit with sealed roller bearings
  • Bosch 1.15-bar temperature and pressure sensor with connector kit
  • Throttle, resonance-flap and intake-adapter sleeves with hose clamps
  • Vacuum canister, solenoid, check valve, connector and hoses
  • Required fasteners and fittings

Configuration Information

Versions are offered for two-bolt and three-bolt cylinder heads, with the corresponding adapter port sizes. Configurations may include or exclude a pair of Adapt Motorsport GT3 intake manifolds. Confirm the cylinder-head pattern, required port diameter and manifold requirement when selecting the kit.

FAQs

  • Is the electronic throttle body included?
Yes. The base kit includes a Bosch 82mm electronic throttle body and connector kit.
  • Are intake manifolds included?
This depends on the selected configuration. Versions are offered both with and without a pair of Adapt Motorsport GT3 intake manifolds.
  • Which injector lengths are supported?
The supplied fuel-rail spacers can be configured for long, medium or short EV14-style injectors.
  • Which cylinder-head patterns are available?
    Two-bolt versions support 2.7L, 3.0L and 3.2L applications, while three-bolt versions are intended for 964 and 993 3.6L engines.

About Electronic Fuel Injection Throttle Kits

Porsche Electronic Fuel Injection Throttle Kits - Precision Airflow & Throttle Control

Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) Throttle Kits upgrade the engine’s air delivery system, providing precise throttle control, improved airflow, and enhanced engine response. Designed for performance builds, engine conversions, and modernised classic Porsche applications, these kits replace restrictive or outdated throttle systems with advanced electronic throttle bodies and control hardware.

Available from Design911, Porsche EFI throttle kits are engineered to deliver smoother power delivery, sharper throttle response, and improved drivability—especially in tuned, high-performance, or track-focused engines.

What Do Electronic Fuel Injection Throttle Kits Do?

EFI throttle kits regulate the volume of air entering the engine with high precision, directly influencing power and response.

Core Functions:

  • Control engine airflow electronically and accurately.
  • Improve throttle response and drivability.
  • Support higher airflow demands in tuned engines.
  • Enable precise fuel and ignition mapping.
  • Enhance overall engine efficiency and performance.

Accurate throttle control is essential for modern performance engine management.

Why Do Standard Throttle Systems Fail?

Factory or older throttle systems can become limiting or unreliable over time, particularly in modified engines. Common issues include:

  • Mechanical throttle wear or cable stretch.
  • Inconsistent airflow from ageing throttle bodies.
  • Restrictive designs limiting high-RPM performance.
  • Poor compatibility with modern ECU tuning.
  • Inadequate response for high-performance applications.

These limitations can result in sluggish response, uneven power delivery, and reduced tuning potential.

Why Upgrade to an EFI Throttle Kit?

EFI throttle kits are designed to support modern engine management and higher performance demands.

Upgrade Benefits:

  • Sharper, more consistent throttle response.
  • Increased airflow capacity for power upgrades.
  • Improved compatibility with aftermarket ECUs.
  • Enhanced drivability for road and track use.
  • Ideal for engine builds, conversions, and restorations.

Upgrading to an EFI throttle kit unlocks precise control and maximises engine tuning potential.

Highlights

  • Porsche electronic fuel injection throttle kits
  • Precision airflow and throttle control upgrades
  • Designed for tuned and performance engines
  • Improved response, drivability, and power delivery
  • Compatible with modern ECU management systems
