GT3 manifold electronic throttle conversion kit by Adapt Motorsport for air-cooled Porsche 911 turbo installations with two-bolt cylinder heads.
Fits
- Porsche 911 1975-1977 3.0L Turbo (930)
- Porsche 911 1978-1989 3.3L Turbo (930)
What This Product Does
This conversion uses large-volume 996 GT3-style intake manifolds as the basis of an electronic throttle intake system for classic air-cooled Porsche engines. Adapt Motorsport offers purpose-designed cast-aluminium manifolds that account for the shorter cylinder spacing of these engines, together with the fuel delivery, vacuum and resonance-flap components required to form the intake assembly.
Functions
- Controls intake airflow through a Bosch 82mm electronic throttle body
- Adapts GT3-style intake hardware to compatible two-bolt turbo cylinder heads
- Provides fuel rails and spacers for long, medium or short EV14-style injectors
- Operates the resonance flap through a vacuum canister, solenoid and check valve
- Provides vacuum connections for the brake booster, idle-air bypass and other systems
- Measures intake temperature and manifold pressure using a Bosch T-MAP sensor
Technical Details
- 996 GT3-style intake manifold port diameter: 49mm
- Two-bolt intake adapters: 40mm or 42mm ports for 3.0ltr and 3.3ltr turbo engines
- Bosch electronic throttle body diameter: 82mm
- Standard Bosch T-MAP sensor: 1.15 bar; a 3.0-bar option is also offered
- Adapt Motorsport manifolds are cast aluminium; the resonance flap and intake T-piece are CNC-machined and black anodised
Base Kit Contents
- Adapt Motorsport high-flow intake T-piece with vacuum and T-MAP sensor ports
- Fuel rail kit with fittings
- Bosch 82mm electronic throttle body and connector kit
- CNC-machined resonance-flap kit with sealed roller bearings
- Bosch 1.15-bar temperature and pressure sensor with connector kit
- Throttle, resonance-flap and intake-adapter sleeves with hose clamps
- Vacuum canister, solenoid, check valve, connector and hoses
- Required fasteners and fittings
Configuration Information
Versions are offered for two-bolt and three-bolt cylinder heads, with the corresponding adapter port sizes. Configurations may include or exclude a pair of Adapt Motorsport GT3 intake manifolds. Confirm the cylinder-head pattern, required port diameter and manifold requirement when selecting the kit.
FAQs
- Is the electronic throttle body included?
Yes. The base kit includes a Bosch 82mm electronic throttle body and connector kit. - Are intake manifolds included?
This depends on the selected configuration. Versions are offered both with and without a pair of Adapt Motorsport GT3 intake manifolds. - Which injector lengths are supported?

Throttle Bodies & Plenum Chambers – Engine Breathing Precision for Porsche Performance
Throttle bodies and plenum chambers are critical components of your Porsche’s air intake system. Together, they regulate and distribute airflow entering the engine, directly influencing throttle response, torque, and overall driving performance. The throttle body controls how much air enters the intake manifold, while the plenum chamber ensures balanced air delivery to all cylinders — maintaining consistent power and efficiency across the rev range.
At Design911, we supply a complete range of genuine and high-quality throttle bodies and plenum chambers for Porsche models like 911, Boxster, Cayman, Cayenne, Macan, and Panamera models. Each unit is precision-engineered for smooth airflow, accurate response, and long-term reliability, keeping your Porsche performing at its best.
What Do Throttle Bodies & Plenum Chambers Do?
These components are essential for efficient engine
breathing and performance tuning. Their key functions include:
- Controlling
airflow entering the engine for precise throttle response.
- Optimising
air distribution to each cylinder for smooth, balanced power.
- Improving
combustion efficiency and engine performance.
- Supporting enhanced torque and acceleration in naturally aspirated and turbocharged engines.
In performance models, upgraded throttle bodies and plenum chambers can increase air volume and flow efficiency — unlocking additional horsepower and sharper throttle control.
Why Do Throttle Bodies & Plenum Chambers Fail?
Over time, these components can experience wear,
contamination, or mechanical issues due to harsh operating conditions. Common
causes of failure include:
- Carbon
buildup or dirt affecting airflow and throttle operation.
- Electronic
faults in the throttle actuator or position sensor.
- Air
leaks from worn seals or cracked housings.
- Heat
damage or corrosion in the plenum chamber.
- Mechanical sticking of the throttle plate or linkage.
Symptoms of failure include rough idle, reduced acceleration, check engine light warnings, poor throttle response, or inconsistent idle speed.
Why Replace Faulty Throttle Bodies or Plenum Chambers?
A damaged or restricted throttle body or plenum chamber can significantly reduce engine performance and responsiveness. Replacing these components restores precise airflow control, smooth throttle transitions, and optimal fuel efficiency.
Benefits of replacement include:
- Restored engine power and responsiveness.
- Improved air distribution and combustion efficiency.
- Smoother idling and better fuel economy.
- Long-term reliability with manufacturer-quality precision.
All throttle bodies and plenum chambers available from Design911 are built using advanced materials, high-precision machining, and corrosion-resistant finishes — ensuring dependable performance and durability in every Porsche application.
