Conversions & Backdate Kits

Fits:
Porsche 964 - 1989 to 1994
Porsche 993 - 1994 to 1998
Backdate center filler conversion-kit for Porsche 964 / 993
This "Singer Style" center filler kit allows fuel filling through the center of the bonnet while closed. The fuel filler neck and base is attached to the included strut brace and connected to the fuel line connection of the standard fuel tank. The front fender tank cap opening in the can therefore be blinded like in Porsche racing cars or the "964 Singer Porsche". With this solution, the TÜV approval is also retained.
The tank cap is available in polished, natural or black anodized finish. It is also lockable. The decorative cap with integrated "Fuel" lettering is attached to the also included lockable tank cap with magnets.
A twin rainwater drain hose and the included sealing profile prevent rainwater from building up in the tank bowl or even getting into the trunk.
The position of the tank cap in the hood can be adjusted in height and inclination in all directions using various options.
All required mounting materials and illustrated installation instructions are included.
Installation instructions:
The original filler neck from the front fender must either be glued or welded into the filler pipe provided. When gluing, make sure that it is a high-quality and petrol-resistant adhesive. We recommend welding it.
The original tank must be treated with heat on one side and deformed using the contained tool.
Compatibility:
This center fueling system can be installed in all Porsche 964 and 993 models that have an original tank with one of the following part numbers: 96420102100 / 96420102104 / 99320102100.
For all other tanks with the part numbers 96420128700 and 96420102102, further modifications to the vehicle by the customer are necessary and direct installation is not possible.

Construction & Finish - Mirrors:
- Each mirror housing is precision CNC turned and milled from solid aircraft-grade aluminium, ensuring exceptional quality, durability, and fitment.
- The mirrors are available in the following finishes: Chrome-plated, Nickel-plated, Matt chrome-plated, and Black coated.
- The mirrors feature real panoramic glass, offering a significantly larger field of view compared to conventional mirror glass, offering improved visibility and safety while maintaining a classic appearance.
- In addition to electric adjustment, the angle of inclination of the mirror housing can be preset vertically and horizontally during installation.
Construction & Finish - Quarter-Light Windows:
- The included acrylic glass panels are lightweight and thermoformed, hardened over two axes for strength and durability, and finished with polished edges.
- The windows are available Clear, or Green tinted, matching the original green tint used on Porsche 964 windows.
- Each window set is model-specific and pre-drilled for precise mirror placement.
Important Compatibility Information:
- For Porsche 964 models, the mirrors connect directly (plug-and-play) to the factory mirror adjustment switch.
- For Porsche 911 F & G models, as well as the 993, custom wiring is required to integrate the original Porsche 964 electrical adjustment motor into these vehicles.
- Please ensure you select the correct vehicle model when ordering, as the quarter-light windows differ between models.
- The inner adjustment lever is a dummy and serves no functional purpose.

Premium Conversions & Backdate Kits for Classic-Inspired Exterior Styling
Conversions and backdate kits are designed for enthusiasts who want to transform their vehicle’s exterior into a timeless, retro-inspired classic style. These kits typically include panels, bumpers, spoilers, arches, trims and body components engineered to emulate earlier generations while delivering improved fitment, durability and road presence. Whether you’re restoring a classic, modernising a daily driver or building a unique custom project, conversions and backdate kits provide a dramatic and highly personalised styling upgrade.
What Conversions & Backdate Kits Do
Conversions and backdate kits are crafted to enhance or
completely reshape the exterior look of the vehicle.
Their primary functions
include:
- Transforming modern bodylines into classic or heritage-inspired styling
- Replacing heavier or aged panels with lightweight alternatives
- Updating
bumpers, arches, valances and spoilers for improved visual impact
- Enhancing
aerodynamics with more streamlined or performance-focused designs
- Allowing
customisation to suit personal builds, restorations or themed projects
- Providing a complete styling solution that maintains alignment and panel fitment standards
They help achieve a unique, cohesive body transformation without requiring bespoke fabrication work.
Why Conversions & Backdate Components Commonly Fail
Exterior styling components endure constant exposure to the
elements, vibration and road debris.
Over time, original or ageing parts can
fail due to:
- UV
fading, cracking or peeling of older exterior panels
- Corrosion
or rust in metal elements
- Impact
damage from stones, debris or minor collisions
- Warping
or distortion from temperature changes
- Poor
alignment or sagging due to weakened mounting points
- Degraded plastics, fibreglass or composites losing structural integrity
Backdate kits may also be needed when original panels become unavailable or too costly to repair.
Why You Should Replace or Upgrade to a Conversion / Backdate Kit
Upgrading to a conversion or backdate kit ensures your
exterior styling is refreshed, cohesive and built with high-quality,
precision-made components engineered to deliver lasting performance.
Benefits include:
- Restoring a clean, classic or performance-inspired look
- Upgrading materials for better durability and impact resistance
- Improving panel alignment and fit compared to ageing components
- Enhancing aerodynamics for high-speed stability
- Personalising your vehicle with a timeless design
- Increasing overall visual appeal and potential resale value
A well-designed backdate kit not only upgrades aesthetics but also rejuvenates exterior integrity across multiple panels.
