The Fabspeed Porsche 997 Carrera Performance Package is a comprehensive intake, exhaust developed for Porsche 997 Carrera models from 2005–2008.

Fits:

  • Porsche 997 MK1 Carrera 2 3.6L 2005-08
  • Porsche 997 MK1 Carrera 4 3.6L 2005-08  

Rather than upgrading one component in isolation, the package improves the complete airflow path through the naturally aspirated flat-six engine. It replaces restrictive factory intake and exhaust components with freer-flowing Fabspeed hardware.

  • High-flow sport catalysts

  • Deluxe Quad-Style Exhaust Tips

What This Product Does:
The Performance Package is designed to improve how efficiently air enters the engine and how quickly exhaust gases leave it.

The upgraded intake reduces restriction before the engine, while the headers, X-pipe and mufflers provide a freer-flowing exhaust path.

The ECU calibration then adjusts engine-management parameters to take advantage of the increased airflow.

The package is designed to:

  • Increase horsepower
  • Increase torque
  • Improve throttle response
  • Improve engine breathing
  • Increase cold-air intake flow
  • Reduce exhaust restriction
  • Improve performance throughout the RPM range
  • Produce a deeper and more aggressive exhaust note
  • Increase induction sound
  • Reduce overall component weight

For a mechanically healthy standard car, this package is primarily a performance, sound and response upgrade, rather than a maintenance replacement.

Symptoms Of Wear Or Failure:
The original exhaust components on a 2005–2008 Porsche 997 may deteriorate through age, heat cycling, corrosion and mileage.

Possible symptoms include:

  • Exhaust blowing or ticking
  • Hissing from leaking joints
  • Black soot around exhaust connections
  • Cracked welds

NOTE: The Catbypass X-Pipe provides dramatic power increases in the mid to high end of the RPM range. Street drivers may notice a small torque loss at low RPM's, which is why we recommend the Sportcat X-Pipe for street applications. Please also bear in mind that this system does not include catalytic converters, so the Check Engine will most likely be triggered. This is not an indication of any actual issue with the engine, and does not prevent normal vehicle operation. Optional O2 Spacers are also available to help keep the CEL from being triggered.

Increase power and save weight with a throatier and deeper exhaust note throughout the RPM range; and improving the overall aesthetic of the vehicle with the quad style tips. This system can be used with the OEM outlet tips, or Fabspeed's Deluxe Quad-Style Tips to give the 997 Carrera the look it deserves.

SOUND:

Get a slightly throatier and deeper exhaust note throughout the RPM range with our Maxflo Side Exhaust.

POWER:

On our Dynojet we saw peak gains of 12 whp and 12 ft-lbs of torque. As you can see on the dyno graph, these gains are carried throughout the rev range.
