What size serpentine belt to run when using an under drive pulley?

The stock serpentine belt length for a 986 Porsche Boxster or Porsche 996 with air conditioning is 2115mm Porsche part # 996 102 151 64. If you remove the air conditioning but keep the stock drive pulley you will need a new serpentine belt that is 1930mm in length. If you then decide to add an underdrive pulley in the range of 4.25 to 5 inches in diameter you will need a belt 1905mm in length. For those of you who would like to add an under drive pulley with air conditioning, the proper length is 2101mm.

So in review:

This OE Match drive belt is suitable for Porsche models fitted with a motorsport under drive pulley and air conditioning. It is designed for the shorter belt route required when using an under drive pulley while retaining the air conditioning system.

Drive Belt Length Guide for Under Drive Pulley Setups

When using an under drive pulley, the correct serpentine belt length depends on whether the air conditioning system is retained and which pulley setup is fitted.

The standard serpentine belt length for Porsche 986 Boxster and Porsche 996 models with air conditioning is 2115 mm, using Porsche part number 996 102 151 64.

If the air conditioning system is removed but the standard drive pulley is retained, a shorter serpentine belt of 1930 mm is required.

If an under drive pulley measuring approximately 4.25 to 5 inches in diameter is fitted on a car without air conditioning, the required belt length is 1905 mm.

For cars fitted with an under drive pulley while retaining air conditioning, the correct belt length is approximately 2100–2101 mm.
