Fabspeed 70mm Supersport X-Pipe Exhaust System.

The Fabspeed 70mm Supersport X-Pipe Exhaust System is a high-performance exhaust upgrade designed specifically for the 2011 Porsche 997.2 GT2 RS.

Fits:

  • Porsche 997 MKII GT2 RS 2011-13

The system replaces the factory rear mufflers and catalytic converters with a freer-flowing 70mm X-pipe arrangement incorporating 200-cell HJS Sport Catalytic Converters. It is engineered to reduce exhaust restriction, improve throttle response and give the GT2 RS a more pronounced, exotic performance exhaust note.

Manufactured from high-quality 14–16 gauge CNC mandrel-bent T304L stainless steel, the system is designed to withstand the extreme temperatures and operating demands of the twin-turbocharged GT2 RS.

Fabspeed's Deluxe GT2 Style exhaust tips are also included, providing a finished appearance that complements the rear of the vehicle.

What This Product Does:
The exhaust system carries combustion gases away from the turbochargers and engine while controlling exhaust flow, emissions and sound.

On a high-performance turbocharged engine such as the GT2 RS, reducing unnecessary exhaust restriction downstream of the turbochargers can help gases leave the system more efficiently.

The Fabspeed Supersport X-Pipe is designed to:

  • Improve exhaust gas flow
  • Reduce post-turbo exhaust restriction
  • Improve throttle response
  • Support more responsive turbocharger operation
  • Produce a stronger and more exotic exhaust sound
  • Replace the restrictive factory rear mufflers
  • Provide high-flow catalytic converter performance
  • Improve long-term corrosion resistance
  • Provide a durable stainless-steel replacement for ageing factory components
  • Enhance the appearance of the exhaust with Deluxe GT2 Style tips

The X-pipe layout also allows exhaust gases from both sides of the engine to interact within the system, contributing to its distinctive sound characteristics.

Symptoms Of Wear Or Failure:
The exhaust system on a high-performance vehicle such as the 997.2 GT2 RS experiences extreme heat, vibration and repeated thermal cycles.

Signs of deterioration can include:

  • Exhaust blowing, ticking or hissing noises
  • Cracks around pipes, welds or joints
  • Black soot around leaking connections
  • Loose or damaged exhaust clamps
  • Corrosion or surface deterioration
  • Metallic rattling from the catalytic converters
  • Increased or irregular exhaust noise
  • Exhaust fumes around the rear of the vehicle
  • Reduced throttle response
  • Increased turbo lag
  • Loss of engine performance
  • Check Engine Light associated with catalyst efficiency
  • Unusual sulphur-like exhaust smells
  • Damaged or deformed exhaust pipework
  • Loose exhaust tips or poor outlet alignment

Catalytic converters can also deteriorate internally through extreme heat and repeated thermal cycling. The catalyst substrate may break apart, become loose or partially block the exhaust path.

Why Replacement Matters:
A damaged or restrictive exhaust system can affect both engine performance and reliability.

Exhaust leaks allow hot gases to escape before reaching the intended outlets. This can increase heat exposure around nearby components, cause unwanted noise and gradually worsen as cracks or joints deteriorate.

A damaged or partially blocked catalytic converter can create additional exhaust backpressure.

On a twin-turbocharged Porsche GT2 RS, excessive restriction downstream of the turbochargers can work against efficient exhaust evacuation and may negatively affect throttle and turbocharger response.

Replacing deteriorated exhaust components helps restore:

  • A secure and leak-free exhaust path
  • Efficient exhaust gas evacuation
  • Consistent turbo response
  • Correct catalytic converter operation
  • Proper exhaust outlet positioning
  • Reduced risk of further heat or corrosion-related damage

For a vehicle with a healthy standard exhaust, upgrading to the Fabspeed system provides the additional advantages of freer exhaust flow, a more aggressive exhaust note and performance-focused construction.

Sports exhaust rear silencer and catalytic converters.
Rear silencer including reduced cell catalytic converter

Fits:
Porsche 997 GT2 and GT2 RS 2007-2012

The component is perfectly interchangeable with the original components, following the instructions in the constructor's workshop manual

RACETRACK USE ONLY
These components are designed and developed for racetrack use and to maximise the car's performance. They are not street legal and must be installed by professionals in the sector

ECU REMAPPING - ENGINE LIGHT
Replacement or removal of components such as catalytic converters, GPFs and electric actuators may cause the engine warning light to come on. In this case, the installer must reprogram the software to eliminate the light

REDUCED CELL CATALYTIC CONVERTER - 200 CELLS
Race catalytic converters have fewer cells than standard factory systems. This reduces exhaust back pressure while still maintaining the operation of the catalytic converter, and improves performance and sound

SOUND - TUBI SOUND
Tubi Sound is the standard sound of Tubi Style exhausts, louder and more powerful than the original sound. This sound represents our brand

END TIPS DESIGN - OE
The muffler must be used in conjunction with the original exhaust end tips

SYSTEM FINISH - POLISHED
Mirror finishes are highly reflective and created by polishing the stainless steel. The polishing process enhances appearance and consistency, making cleaning easier. A special rolling procedure is used. It is essential to remove deep scratches as any surface defects will be very noticeable on the finished product. it improves corrosion resistance. The polishing eradicates crevices where corrosive particles can lodge themselves

END TIPS NUMBER AND POSITION - 1 + 1 AT THE SIDES
The tailpipes are located low down at the sides of the car. There is one tailpipe at each side

MATERIAL - AISI 304 STAINLESS STEEL
A choice stainless steel ideal for aggressive environments where combustion emissions can cause serious chemical corrosion on other types of metal

MAIN PIPE DIMENSION - 65mm
This is the diameter of the main pipe of the exhaust system

EXHAUST VALVE - NO VALVE
The exhaust system does not include a valve and always guarantees the most impressive sound. If the standard system includes one, control of the valve by both the engine ECU and by the pilot via the specific control systems is no longer possible

HEAT SHIELDING - INSULATED
Tubi Style ensures maximum protection for components in critical and dangerous positions by using insulation made with the same technology employed by car manufacturers
