Product Information
Brake discs, calipers, pads and brake master cylinders are the four cardinal points of each brake system; however, they are likely to be useless without the core of the entire system, the brake fluid. This component is so neglected as to be generally controlled in a summary fashion, with topping instead of a more appropriate replacement, at the change frequency recommended by the manufacturer.
brembo

DOT 4
Having an extremely high boiling point and lower viscosity than required, it meets and greatly exceeds regulatory standards. Also suitable for vehicles with ABS.

Vapour Lock formation
This sort of habit leaves room for the Vapour Lock, the formation of vapour bubbles due to boiling of the brake fluid that replace the normal fluid and are compressed, thereby sending the brake pedal to its fill stoke (spongy pedal). The origin is incident in the porosity of the tubes that make up the braking circuit, which in time draw moisture into the fluid, drastically reducing the boiling point. The result is a reduced braking efficiency.

Brembo Premium Brake Fluid
Brembo Premium brake fluids have a higher boiling point that exceeds the standard, thus offering superior resistance to the Vapour Lock and ensuring braking efficiency even at low temperatures. With high anti-corrosion properties and resistance to oxidation, Brembo brake fluid also allows for long-term unaltered chemical/physical characteristics of the fluid in operating circuit; therefore, preserving its integrity.

What Do the Front Brake Pads Do?

Front brake pads are the primary friction component within the braking system. When the brake pedal is applied, hydraulic pressure forces the pads against the brake discs, converting kinetic energy into heat and slowing the vehicle safely and efficiently.

Their primary functions include:

  • Delivering the majority of the vehicle's braking force.
  • Providing smooth, progressive stopping performance.
  • Maintaining stable braking under heavy deceleration.
  • Supporting Porsche ABS, PSM and electronic brake distribution systems.
  • Delivering excellent pedal feel and driver confidence.
  • Ensuring consistent braking performance during everyday and high-performance driving.

Because the front brakes perform most of the braking work, high-quality brake pads are essential for maintaining Porsche's renowned braking performance.

Why Do Front Brake Pads Wear Out?

Brake pads are consumable service components that naturally wear over time. Common causes include:

  • Continuous friction against the brake discs.
  • High temperatures generated during braking.
  • Fast road driving.
  • Track day use.
  • Repeated heavy braking.
  • Natural wear of the friction material.
  • High vehicle mileage.
  • Brake disc wear affecting pad contact.

Performance models such as the 991 Turbo, 992 and 718 GTS 4.0 typically experience increased brake pad wear due to their higher braking loads.

When Should the Front Brake Pads Be Replaced?

Replacement is recommended whenever:

  • The brake pad wear warning light is illuminated.
  • The friction material reaches Porsche's minimum service thickness.
  • Braking performance begins to decline.
  • Squealing or grinding noises develop.
  • Uneven brake pad wear is detected.
  • Front brake discs are being replaced.
  • During scheduled brake servicing.
  • Before performance driving or track events if pad thickness is approaching its wear limit.

For optimum braking performance, replace the brake pad wear sensors whenever new brake pads are fitted and inspect the brake discs for wear, scoring or heat damage.

Brembo Quality You Can Trust

The Brembo P65045 Front Brake Pad Set offers:

  • Genuine Brembo OE-quality friction material.
  • Direct replacement for original equipment brake pads.
  • Outstanding stopping performance.
  • Excellent resistance to brake fade.

As one of the world's leading original equipment braking manufacturers, Brembo develops braking components that meet the exacting standards demanded by Porsche. These rear brake pads are manufactured using advanced friction materials to provide outstanding stopping power while working perfectly with OE brake discs and Porsche's sophisticated ABS, PSM and electronic brake systems.

What Do the Rear Brake Pads Do?

Rear brake pads are a key component of your Porsche's braking system. When the brake pedal is pressed, hydraulic pressure forces the pads against the rear brake discs, generating friction that slows the vehicle while maintaining braking stability.

Their primary functions include:

  • Providing controlled rear braking force.
  • Supporting balanced braking between the front and rear axles.
  • Working seamlessly with ABS, PSM and electronic brake force distribution.
  • Delivering progressive, confidence-inspiring pedal feel.
  • Minimising stopping distances.
  • Providing quiet, consistent braking performance.

Although the front brakes perform most of the braking effort, the rear brake pads play a vital role in maintaining vehicle stability and overall braking balance.

Why Do Rear Brake Pads Wear Out?

Brake pads are designed as consumable service items and gradually wear through normal use. Common causes include:

  • Continuous friction against the brake discs.
  • Heat generated during braking.
  • Frequent urban or stop-start driving.
  • Spirited road driving.
  • Heavy vehicle loads.
  • Brake disc wear affecting pad contact.
  • High vehicle mileage.
  • Natural wear of the friction material.

As the friction material becomes thinner, braking efficiency gradually decreases until replacement is required.

When Should the Rear Brake Pads Be Replaced?

Replacement is recommended whenever:

  • The rear brake pad warning light is illuminated.
  • Brake pad friction material reaches the minimum service thickness.
  • Braking performance begins to decline.
  • Squealing or grinding noises develop.
  • Uneven brake pad wear is detected.
  • Rear brake discs are being replaced.
  • During scheduled brake servicing.

For optimum braking performance, Porsche specialists recommend replacing the brake pad wear sensors whenever new brake pads are installed and inspecting the brake discs for wear at the same time.

About Brembo Standard brakes

Ensure your Porsche delivers the braking precision it was built for with Brembo Standard Brakes from Design911. Trusted by manufacturers and enthusiasts worldwide, Brembo brake pads and discs offer OEM-grade quality, safety, and reliability — perfectly balancing performance and comfort for everyday road use.

What They Are & What They Do
Brembo’s standard brake components are direct OEM replacements that deliver consistent friction, even wear, and reliable stopping power. Each disc and pad is designed to withstand heat, resist warping, and maintain quiet, vibration-free braking while preserving Porsche’s factory feel.

Why They Fail
Over time, brake pads wear down from friction, and discs can develop grooves, warping, or rust due to heat cycles and moisture exposure. Driving in stop-start conditions, or aggressive braking, accelerates this wear. Ignoring these issues can lead to reduced braking efficiency, vibration, and longer stopping distances.

Why They Should Be Replaced
Replacing worn Brembo pads and discs restores safety, control, and braking confidence. New components ensure shorter stopping distances, reduced noise, and extended rotor life. Choosing Brembo standard brakes from Design911 guarantees perfect fitment, premium materials, and factory-matched performance — ideal for daily driving or mild performance upgrades.

Brembo’s proven engineering delivers smooth pedal feel and dependable results, keeping your Porsche true to its reputation for precision and driving excellence.
