The AdBlue (urea/DEF) system is part of the emissions control system on modern diesel vehicles. It injects a urea solution into the exhaust stream so that NOₓ emissions can be reduced via a Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) process.

The AdBlue pump is responsible for drawing urea solution (AdBlue) from the tank and delivering it under pressure to the injector/nozzle. Because AdBlue is corrosive and operates in a harsh environment (with potential crystallization, heat, etc.), the pump internals (seals, diaphragms, valves, sensors) can degrade over time.

A repair kit for the AdBlue pump is a kit that contains internal components (e.g. seals, diaphragms, O-rings, valves, sometimes membrane or small internal parts) to refurbish an existing pump instead of replacing the full assembly. The idea is to renew the “wear items” inside the pump that tend to fail first.

Product reference number 95811390300 is the repair set / kit corresponding to the AdBlue pump for certain Porsche Cayenne 958 (diesel) models.

Fits:
Porsche 958 Cayenne 3.0L Diesel 2011-18 *cars without activated carbon canister with SCR (option code: 1E9)
Porsche 958 Cayenne S 4.2L Diesel 2011-18 *EU6 plus exhaust concept (option code 7MM)

Why these repair kits are needed / when to replace

Pump failure or malfunction

The pump ceases to draw or deliver AdBlue solution properly.

Dosing errors (under or over dosing) cause emissions faults or “AdBlue system malfunction” warnings.

The ECU or emission control module detects that the pump can’t maintain required pressure.

Leaks / seal degradation

The internal seals, O-rings, membranes can degrade, harden, crack or leak from exposure to urea, heat cycles, crystallization, contamination.

Leaks may manifest as fluid loss, crystallized deposits, or detection of low AdBlue despite tank level being fine.

Clogging / contamination / crystallization

Urea solutions tend to crystallize if they dry or if concentration levels are off. Crystals can obstruct internal passages or damage internal parts.

Foreign particles or contamination in the fluid can damage valves, check components or rub against internal surfaces.

Wear / fatigue of internal moving parts

The pump generally has moving parts (diaphragms, pistons, valves) that wear or fatigue over time.

The dosing pump is cycled many times, so mechanical wear is expected after service life.

Electrical / sensor elements

Some pumps or kits may include or interface with sensors or pressure regulation elements; if those fail, the pump may be flagged even if mechanical parts are intact.

About Adblue system

AdBlue Systems – Clean Emissions & Reliable Performance for Modern Porsche Engines

The AdBlue system is a crucial component of modern Porsche diesel and hybrid engines, designed to reduce harmful nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions and ensure compliance with environmental standards. Using a urea-based fluid (AdBlue), the system injects a precise amount into the exhaust stream, converting pollutants into harmless nitrogen and water vapour through selective catalytic reduction (SCR).

At Design911, we supply a full range of AdBlue system components, including tanks, pumps, injectors, sensors, and control modules. Each part is built to maintain the correct fluid pressure, flow, and temperature — ensuring consistent performance and reliability across Porsche diesel and hybrid models.

Whether you’re replacing a worn AdBlue injector or servicing the complete system, our quality parts are designed for durability, compatibility, and accurate operation under demanding driving conditions.

What Do AdBlue Systems Do?

AdBlue systems work by injecting a specially formulated fluid into the exhaust gases before they reach the catalytic converter. This process significantly reduces harmful emissions and ensures compliance with stringent EU and global emission standards.

Core Functions:

  • Reduces NOx emissions via chemical conversion in the SCR catalyst.
  • Maintains exhaust system efficiency for cleaner operation.
  • Ensures compliance with Euro 6 and equivalent emission regulations.
  • Improves environmental performance without reducing power output.
  • Monitors AdBlue levels, temperature, and injector flow for precise delivery.

Properly functioning AdBlue systems are essential not just for emission control, but also for maintaining engine performance and avoiding costly diagnostic faults.

Why Do AdBlue Systems Fail?

AdBlue components are exposed to heat, vibration, and chemical crystallisation — all of which can lead to malfunction or system shutdowns if not maintained.

Common Causes of Failure Include:

  • Crystallised AdBlue deposits clogging injectors or pumps.
  • Sensor or heater failure within the tank assembly.
  • Leaking or blocked AdBlue lines causing pressure loss.
  • Electrical faults in control units or wiring.
  • Contaminated fluid from improper handling or storage.

Typical warning signs include AdBlue warning lights, “No Start” countdown messages, poor performance, or increased exhaust smoke. Addressing these early can prevent expensive repairs and system lockout.

Why Replace Adblue Components?

Replacing worn or failed AdBlue components with high-quality, precision-engineered replacements ensures continued emissions compliance, optimal performance, and system reliability.
