LIQUI MOLY Cera Tec Wear Protection Additive – 300ml 

LIQUI MOLY Cera Tec is a high-performance ceramic engine oil additive developed to reduce friction, minimise wear and provide long-lasting protection for internal engine components.

Its advanced formulation combines microscopic ceramic particles with chemical friction modifiers to help protect metal surfaces, improve smooth running and reduce wear during cold starts and normal operation.  Can be used in petrol, in diesel engines and compatible manual transmissions. Not to be used in automatic or PKD gearboxes

What Does It Do?

Cera Tec uses microscopic ceramic particles and chemical friction modifiers to reduce direct metal-to-metal contact inside the engine.

This helps:

  • Reduce friction and mechanical wear
  • Protect components during cold starts
  • Improve engine smoothness
  • Provide additional protection under high loads
  • Support long-term engine durability

Why Is It Important?

Internal engine components experience friction whenever the engine operates, particularly during cold starts and under heavy loads.

Cera Tec provides an additional wear-protection treatment to complement the engine oil, helping reduce friction between moving metal surfaces.

When Should It Be Used?

Cera Tec can be added during routine engine oil servicing, preferably when filling with fresh engine oil.

LIQUI MOLY states that its protective effect can last for up to 50,000km.

It is a preventative wear-protection additive rather than a repair for existing mechanical damage.

Application & Dosage

  • Shake the container thoroughly before use.
  • Add directly to the engine / gearbox oil, ideally during an oil change.
  • One 300ml container treats approximately 3–5 litres of oil.
  • Adjust the quantity for larger Porsche oil capacities.
  • Follow the manufacturer's normal oil change intervals.
  • Do not exceed the recommended dosage.

Cera Tec is also suitable for certain manual transmissions, pumps and compressors.

Do not use in automatic transmissions, PDK/DCT gearboxes or wet-clutch differentials.

For applicable Porsche models, one of its most important features is official Porsche C20 approval. It also carries VW 508 00 and VW 509 00 approvals and meets ACEA C5 requirements. Its low 0W-20 viscosity is designed to provide excellent cold-start lubrication while reducing internal friction to help improve engine efficiency and reduce fuel consumption.

What Does Top Tec 6200 0W-20 Do?

Engine oil lubricates moving components, reduces friction, carries heat away from critical areas and helps protect internal engine surfaces against wear and deposits.

Top Tec 6200 combines a low 0W-20 viscosity with modern additive technology. LIQUI MOLY states that the formulation provides excellent cold-start behaviour, high wear resistance, impressive engine cleanliness and outstanding resistance to oxidation.

The low viscosity also allows the oil to circulate rapidly following a cold start, helping reduce the period during which critical engine components are waiting for full oil pressure and lubrication.

Why Choose Top Tec 6200 for a Porsche?

Top Tec 6200 carries official Porsche C20 approval and is intended for Porsche applications where this particular oil standard is specified by the vehicle manufacturer.

It has been developed for selected modern Audi, Porsche, SEAT, Škoda and Volkswagen vehicles requiring VW 508 00, VW 509 00 or Porsche C20 specifications. LIQUI MOLY also confirms that the oil has been tested for use with turbochargers and catalytic converters.

Importantly, LIQUI MOLY states that Top Tec 6200 is not backwards compatible. It should therefore only be used when Porsche C20, VW 508 00/509 00 or another specifically listed compatible specification is required. It should not be substituted for an older Porsche oil specification simply because the engine oil viscosity appears suitable.

Top Tec 6200 is suitable for selected petrol and diesel engines equipped with particulate filters where Porsche C20 or VW 508 00/509 00 is specified.

Its low-friction formulation is particularly suited to modern engines designed around low-viscosity lubricants, where reducing internal friction contributes to improved efficiency and lower fuel consumption.

It is also suitable for extended oil change intervals where these are permitted by the vehicle manufacturer.

Porsche C20 0W-20 Engine Oils & LIQUI MOLY Lubricants

Modern Porsche engines can require highly specific lubricants designed around tighter tolerances, emissions equipment and fuel-efficiency requirements. Choosing an engine oil should therefore be based on the Porsche approval specified for the individual engine rather than viscosity alone.

LIQUI MOLY Top Tec 6200 0W-20 carries official Porsche C20 approval alongside VW 508 00 and VW 509 00 approvals and ACEA C5 specification. It was developed for selected modern Porsche and Volkswagen Group engines requiring these low-viscosity oil standards.
