50 Years of the Porsche 914
In 2019 we celebrate a very special party: 50 years of the Porsche 914. But before we blow out 50 candles, we would like to make a wish: thousands of more miles of driving fun.
The type 914, only yesterday, they called it the people’s Porsche. And today? It’s one of the most popular Porsche among enthusiasts. Presented in 1969, developed in cooperation with Volkswagen: a mid-engine sports car with a removable roof and a 4-cylinder injection engine. Sporty? No question. Ahead of its time? Timeless, rather.
The sports car was designed, manufactured and marketed collaboratively by both Volkswagon and Porsche between 1969 and 1996. It was available both as a Targa-Topped Two-Seat Roadster powered by either a flat 4 or flat 6 engine.
